Disney CONFIRMS Snacks for Halloween 2026

3 June 2026 at 12:10

Halloween at Disneyland is coming soon! This season comes with rare characters, spooky parades, and free candy – but here at Disney Food Blog, we can’t forget about all of the food!

Haunted Heatwave Pizza

Disney just confirmed some of the Halloween menus are coming back for 2026, and we just got a sneak peek!

Click for your FREE Disneyland Snack Map

The Heatwave Pizza from Alien Pizza Planet is returning this year! This is a pizza with spiced blush sauce topped with mozzarella and pepper jack, Italian sausage, classic and crispy cupped pepperoni, smoked bratwurst, and sliced red Fresno chiles, garnished with basil and hot honey drizzle.

Haunted Heatwave Pizza

This is basically a meat-lover’s pizza with a bit of sweet heat from the hot honey, but it wasn’t as hot as we were expecting. Without paying attention, it’s kind of hard to make out what’s what, as everything just kinda tastes like a spicy sausage or pepperoni from the hot honey and chili flakes. We did enjoy it overall, but just know it won’t knock your socks off!

Haunted Heatwave Pizza

Also returning this year is the Oogie Boogie Lemonade from Smokejumpers Grill. This non-alcoholic drink is made with Green Apple Minute-Maid Lemonade, cherry-flavored popping spheres, and raspberry sauce.

Plus, the Slow Burnin’ Mac & Cheese Cone is coming back to Disney California Adventure at the Cozy Cone Motel 3 – Chili Cone Queso. This is fresh-cooked pasta tossed with a spicy red pepper cheese sauce in a bread cone topped with crushed chile-cheese puffs!

Slow-Burning Mac and Cheese

We think this cauldron is pumpernickel bread, which explains the dark colored dough. But pumpernickel isn’t our jam, so this wasn’t a win for us. Inside this cauldron is macaroni in a spicy red pepper cheese sauce. It’s definitely got a fiery hue. It is, indeed, spicy, which is great if you love heat! The bright red topping is crushed red chile-cheese puffs (which are basically Flamin’ Hot Cheetos!). They add a little textural interest, but there’s just not much of it on there. Gimme more, please! Overall, the Slow Burnin’ Mac and Cheese Cone was just okay, which is a bummer because it had so much potential!

Slow-Burnin’ Mac and Cheese

And for dessert, the Caramel Apple Cheesecake is also coming back to the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. This is a caramel cheesecake with caramelized apple filling finished with caramel drip, orange and white chocolate mousse, chocolate flakes, and a chocolate bat.

And, over at Paradise Garden Grill, you can grab the Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta with red chilaquiles, refried beans, avocado spread, queso fresco, pickled red onions, and a fried egg served with chips.

We’re so excited to eat all of the treats we haven’t tried yet at Oogie Boogie Bash. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney food news!

Why August Is HUGE for Disney Popcorn Bucket Fans

22 May 2026 at 10:00

Okay, so we love Halloween in the Disney Parks, and it may be one of our favorite times of the year to visit them.

Halloween Popcorn Buckets

Disney World and Disneyland get decked out in decorations, and guests can grab special treats. We also love going to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Oogie Boogie Bash. The best part is that we don’t have to wait until Halloween to start celebrating — the season kicks off in August.

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

One of the parts of the holiday season is new popcorn buckets! We know that Disney fans love their popcorn buckets, and many have started collecting them. So that means August is a BIG deal for popcorn bucket fans because we usually get one (or even two) at both Disney World and Disneyland.

Mickey Ghost Popcorn Bucket

Last year, Disneyland got this adorable Mickey Ghost Popcorn Bucket, while Disney World got Stitch dressed up as a mummy!

Stitch Mummy Popcorn Bucket

There was also a Jack Skellington bucket for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! These popcorn buckets can and do sell out! While Disney has not announced the buckets that we could see in 2026 just yet, we can guess that both coast resorts will get new buckets coming this August.

We will keep an eye out for when Disney announces what buckets we will get this year and let you know as soon as it happens! Be sure you’re following us at DFB for the latest Disney news.

Finally, EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays usually begins after Thanksgiving. In 2025, the dates were November 28th (the day after Thanksgiving) through December 30th. We believe the dates will be similar this year, and we are keeping an eye out for the official announcement soon.

2025 Festival of the Holidays

Why August 27th Will Be A HUGE Day For Disney Fans

With so much construction happening around Disney World and Disneyland Resort, not to mention what’s all happening outside of the parks like D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event later this year, it feels like there’s at least once a month we’re saying there’s something BIG to look out for. Why? Well, because it’s the truth!

Disney California Adventure

If you’re planning a trip out to California this summer to visit Disneyland, you need to know that there are lots of exciting events on the way! However, August 27th in particular will be one to look out for — here’s why!

In late April, there was a State of the City Address to the City of Anaheim, and the President of Disneyland, Jill Estorino, spoke on what’s coming to Disneyland this summer season. When she was asked about her main focus in Disneyland, she mentioned it’s the leadership team, Cast Members, and the community, which helped her segue into the opportunities and experiences coming to potential guests and community members this summer.

State of the City Address screenshot

She then went on to mention that while they’re wrapping up the 70th Anniversary celebration, there are multiple new additions to look forward to this summer, such as the new “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” show, the changes coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run on May 22nd, and the Soarin’ Across America overlay coming on May 26th.

State of the City Address screenshot

That’s not all, though! Jill Estorino went on to mention how they’re “excited to bring more pixie dust back” with the Happiest Day in Anaheim event on August 27th! While we’re waiting to hear more details, we do know that the plan is to bring community activation across the entire city.

State of the City Address screenshot

Jill described this as special news for the 71st Anniversary of Disneyland Resort, but there’s one more surprise she announced. Anaheim residents will be able to enjoy specially priced tickets with the Anaheim Resident Ticket offer returning, with tickets starting at just $71!

What Is The Future Of MagicBands in Disneyland? We Think We Might Have The Answer!

28 April 2026 at 13:21

While MagicBands have been a Disney World staple since 2013, they have never held the same importance and popularity in Disneyland.

Sleeping Beauty Castle!

In fact, Disneyland has only had MagicBands since 2022, and now there are rumors that they will be leaving again soon. Here’s everything we know.

Disneyland never received the original iteration of the MagicBand system; instead, they have only ever used the upgraded MagicBand+ that got implemented in 2022. However, after only four years, rumors are spreading that MagicBand+ is slowly on its way out at Disneyland.

MagicBand+

Currently, guests can only purchase MagicBand+ at three locations across Disneyland.

According to Scott Gustin, Disneyland has officially confirmed that on-property sales of MagicBand+ are going to end.

Disneyland Resort 70th Anniversary MagicBand+

With continued speculation that they will be selling their current supply, without plans to order additional stock. Now, this apparent removal of the system does not have an impact on the guests yet. Disneyland guests can still use their MagicBand+ to get into the parks and take part in the interactive elements, such as Batuu Bounty Hunters.

Your MagicBand+ will unlock effects around the park!

However, we don’t know how this will change if they stop being sold. The system may remain in place; you just won’t be able to buy additional bands. Scott Gustin says that Disneyland officials have said that the experiences will continue to operate, even without the sale of the bands.

MagicBand+

This is currently everything we know, but we will make sure to update on any additional Disneyland MagicBand+ news that comes up in the future, so make sure to follow Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything!

4 New Rules Disneyland Is Enforcing in 2026

26 April 2026 at 12:00

Disneyland is always evolving, and if you’ve been visiting for years, you already know that what worked on your last trip might not fly anymore.

Disneyland

From updated park policies to new tech, 2026 is bringing a handful of changes that could seriously impact how you plan your day. We’re breaking down some of those changes and what you’ll want to know before you book your next vacation to the Southern California theme park resort.

Facial Recognition Technology Is Expanding

The Disney Parks have fully embraced the digital age — and the Disneyland Resort is no exception. In fact, Disneyland is leaning further into biometric technology in 2026, with expanded use of facial recognition systems at entry points.

New facial recognition sign

These lanes are optional for the time being, and you can find signage posted all over the resort right now that includes some in-depth information on the new tech. Ultimately, Disney is trying to use facial recognition to speed up lines and reduce ticket misuse — but it also means the days of casually sharing tickets or skirting the system are pretty much over.

Disneyland entrance scanners

While Disney has stated this is about efficiency and security, some guests are still getting used to the idea of more advanced tech being part of the park experience. For now, opting in is up to you, but we’ll see how long that remains the case.

Security Rules Are Getting Stricter

If it feels like security is taking a little longer lately, you’re not imagining things. As the world continues to change, so does Disneyland’s enforcement of bag checks and prohibited items in 2026. The resort is consistently updating its policies to prohibit newer items (like vapes) that it doesn’t want inside its parks, shopping districts, and hotels.

Security Lines

The resort is also taking a closer look at oversized bags, loose ice, and certain types of containers. They’re also being more consistent about enforcing stroller size limits and mobility device guidelines. Unlike Disney World, Disneyland still uses old-school metal detectors and bag checkers, and that process doesn’t seem to be changing in 2026. Make sure you check the Disneyland website for a list of approved and banned items before your visit.

No Cell Phones Allowed Out on Certain Rides

If you’re used to filming your entire ride-through, this one’s a big shift. Disneyland is cracking down on having phones and loose items out on select attractions — especially faster rides or those with more intense movements like Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

No Cell Phones

Cast Members have been stopping guests before boarding and reminding them to secure their phones, bottles, glasses, Mickey/Minnie ears, and other loose items completely. This is a total safety issue, and this rule change makes all the sense in the world.

Park Hopping Changes

As of this writing, park hopping between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure can only begin at 11 AM…but that’s about to change.

The Disneyland esplanade — from here, you are feet away from everything Disneyland has to offer!

Later this year, Disneyland will eliminate the 11 AM rule — and you’ll be able to move between the two parks without worrying about the time. We still don’t know when this change will go into effect, but we’ll let you know as soon as it’s announced.

DCA Entrance

If there’s a constant about the Disney Parks, it’s that they never stay the same for too long. We’re always keeping up with all the latest changes, so stay tuned right here at the Disney Food Blog for every update!

ALERT! Showtimes Are CHANGING For A Popular Disney Attraction

20 April 2026 at 10:33

In case you’ve missed it, Bluey has taken over Disneyland! The massively popular children’s TV character and her family have arrived, and they’ve brought some serious excitement with them.

Bluey’s Best Day Ever

If you’re planning on heading into Disneyland Park soon to party with Bluey and Bingo, you should know show times for Bluey’s Best Day Ever! have changed. We don’t want you to be caught unaware and experience a kiddo meltdown, so we’ve got all of the information right here.

Bluey’s Best Day Ever! is the hottest ticket in Fantasyland these days! (Don’t worry, there’s not an extra ticket — you only need your Disneyland Park admission). This is a live show in the Fantasyland Theater (near the entrance to Mickey’s Toontown) that features Bluey, Bingo, live dancers, and more.

Bluey’s Best Day Ever!

The crowds for this show’s opening day were absolutely wild (which we were blown away by). There are two different shows you can experience — one is a story time, and the other is a game show. They traditionally alternate throughout the day. In the first few days of the show’s opening, there wasn’t much room to dance and play because the theater was so packed.

Look at all the people!

The show has continued to be popular, and now, they’re changing up the show times! Starting on April 26th, there will still be 5 show times a day. They will be at 11 AM, 12:20 PM, 1:40 PM, 3:20 PM, and 4:40 PM. We’re super pleased to see that they aren’t cutting a show, especially because it’s so popular.

Bluey’s Best Day Ever

Currently, the show times are 9:30 AM, 10:50 AM, 12:10 PM, 1:50 PM, and 3:10 PM. These show times will be available through April 25th. Disney tends to change show times and availability for different shows, parades, and more throughout the year, so this is a great reminder to always check show times. In addition to Bluey’s Best Day Ever, Disney also released several Bluey-inspired snacks!

The Bluey Mud Cake Cold Brew

If you or your group loves Bluey, this is a great time to be in the parks. If you can’t get over to Disneyland, no worries! Bluey and her pals are also coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting on May 26th. We are also Bluey obsessed, so we totally get why the crowds are going wild. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney updates, news, and more.

DCA’s Food & Wine Festival runs from March 6th to April 27th, 2026. There are so many great food and drinks coming to DCA during the festival. You have plenty of time to grab these amazing items!

Best Eats

Our favorite food items, in no particular order!

Carbonara Pizetta from LA Style

This small flatbread is made with white sauce, Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon, and a black pepper drizzle for $8.

Carbonara Pizzetta

We loved that most of the flavor is garlic and parmesan! The bacon wasn’t a super strong flavor, but we liked how the dough wasn’t too thick and didn’t overpower the toppings. The whole pizza was well-balanced and a hit in our books.

Pork Chile Verde Chalupas from Paradise Garden Grill

This is two chalupas filled with pork in salsa verde, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, and queso fresco served with Spanish rice and refried beans topped with queso fresco for $14.99.

Pork Chile Verde Chalupas

This totally blew us away! The taco shell was a perfect combination of soft and chewy, and the pork was seasoned so well that the flavors exploded in your mouth. The pork had a bit of a kick, but it was balanced by the lettuce, tomato, and lime.

Aguachile Loaded Chips from Paradise Garden Grill

For $13.49, you can grab these zesty chips topped with lime-cooked shrimp, fresh cucumbers, and red onion with aguachile salsa.

Aguachile Loaded Chips

Another hit from Parade Garden Grill! We felt like every chip was perfectly seasoned, and the agua chili salsa had layers of flavor. The chili powder provided a kick, and there’s some in the salsa verde as well, but nothing too crazy. There were so many flavors, and we loved that it was all cooled down by the onion and cucumber. The shrimp added an extra flavor without being too briny, and you can even sprinkle lime on top. SO good.

Spinach Artichoke Grilled Cheese at Pym Test Kitchen

This grilled cheese is made with spinach and artichoke on parmesan-crusted sourdough, served with potato bites for $14.99.

Spinach and Artichoke Grilled Cheese

The parmesan-crusted bread gave this sandwich incredible crunch without overpowering the flavor. The cheese was perfectly melty and gave us that iconic cheese pull, and the spinach and artichoke flavor really came through. If you love a good spinach artichoke dip, you’ll probably really like this grilled cheese.

Best Drinks

Our favorite drinks of the festival!

Pickle Whisky Sour from Peppers Cali-Ente
