Halloween has arrived at Disneyland, and the holidays won’t be far behind. But with temperatures pushing into the 90s, the season feels more muggy than menacing. Still, Main Street, Buena Vista Street, and Route 66 in Cars Land are all decked out, the menus have gone full pumpkin, and ready or not, Halloween Time is […]
Now, we were most excited about Gordon Ramsay at the Carnaby, which recently opened in Downtown Disney. Well, now there’s a NEW reason to get excited about this restaurant: it’s now serving lunch seven days a week!
That’s right, you can now have lunch at Downtown Disney’s newest restaurant from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. AND here’s the most exciting part: the lunch menu features some brand NEW menu items. YES! The two new dishes are:
The Idiot Sandwich (yes, Ramsay fans will immediately recognize the reference) — thrice-fried chicken breast, G.F.C. sauce and dill pickle on a brioche bun, served with choice of fries or salad
Of course, you’ll also still be able to get many of the restaurant’s signature dishes, including Beef Wellington, Fish & Chips with fries, Cottage Pie, Bangers & Mash, The Carnaby Wagyu Burger, and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Yes, in case you didn’t notice, the restaurant has a very British theme and is inspired by London’s Carnaby Street during the 1960s.
Beef Wellington
“There is something particularly exciting about bringing The Carnaby’s music, color, and unmistakable sense of fun into the middle of the day,” said Robert Earl, Founder of Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby. “Lunch gives guests another way to make The Carnaby part of their Downtown Disney District experience, with new dishes that add a distinct daytime expression to the menu.”

At DisneyFoodBlog, we eat our way through Disney World and Disneyland so you don’t have to guess.
The full spread!
Every month, our team of reporters hits table service spots, quick service counters, lounges, and everything in between, ordering the new menu items, the classics, and the dishes everyone’s talking about online. We take notes on flavor, value, portion size, and whether a dish is actually worth the wait or the price tag, because we know that on a Disney vacation, every meal is also a budget decision and a memory in the making. Last month, our team ate at 24 different restaurants across both coasts. We can’t cover every single bite in one article, but we’re highlighting five standout meals that taught us something important about dining in the parks right now — and we think these lessons will help you plan your next trip.
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Proves Appetizers Can Steal the Show
When we headed to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, we started with the Bread Dip Pyramid, a $13 combo of Brazilian cheese bread, creamy tomato sauce, and a smoky chorizo dip. The sauce turned out to be the real star, thick and chunky with tomato, acidic and rich all at once, with the chorizo bringing a meaty depth and just a mild kick of spice. The cheese bread itself was soft and airy with a crisp exterior, pulling apart easily while still holding its shape against all that dipping. This meal taught us two things worth remembering: first, that Skipper Canteen isn’t the only place to find great Brazilian cheese bread at Disney World anymore, and second, that Jock Lindsey’s continues to be one of the most reliable stops for appetizers and cocktails in all of Disney Springs. If you’re tempted to skip the lounge menu in favor of a “real” meal elsewhere, this is your reminder not to.
Capa Reminds Us That Splurges Are Sometimes Worth It
Few meals this month made an impression quite like Capa. The NY Strip Steak with blackened caramelized onions was good enough to earn a permanent spot on one reviewer’s special-occasion list, and the combination of outstanding food, incredible service, and impeccable views made the case that some restaurants genuinely justify their price tag. Our lesson here is a simple one for readers planning a milestone trip: When you’re celebrating something big, Capa is the kind of place where the extra cost buys an experience, not just a plate of food.
New York Strip
Rix Sports Bar and Grill Now Has Churro Waffles
Breakfast got a serious upgrade with Rix Sports Bar & Grill‘s new Chicken and Mickey Waffles for $20 — Mickey-shaped churro waffles topped with crispy Nashville hot chicken tenders, hot honey maple, and a dusting of powdered sugar. The Nashville sauce dripped down onto the plate, so nearly every bite carried some heat alongside the sweetness, and the churro flavor baked into the waffles took the dish beyond a typical chicken-and-waffles combo. It landed at a pleasant medium heat rather than anything punishing, with the best bites coming from dragging those sweet waffles through the spicy sauce. What we took away from this one is that Disney’s kitchens are leaning harder into bold sweet-and-spicy flavor combinations lately, and it’s worth seeking these dishes out if that flavor profile appeals to you — just come prepared for a little bit of heat.
Golden Oak Outpost Proves Quick Service Can Still Surprise You
At Golden Oak Outpost, the Hot Honey Chicken Strips for $12.99 came with marshmallow and candied pecan-topped sweet potato waffle fries, and the whole plate over-delivered for a quick counter-service lunch. The chicken was crunchy and coated in hot honey with a great sweet-heat balance, while the waffle fries brought nostalgic marshmallow flavor with just enough hot honey drizzle to tie the whole plate together. The candied pecans added a nutty note that some might find a touch sweet, but it balanced nicely against the chicken’s spice. This meal taught us not to underestimate quick service: Disney World chicken strips, a menu staple most guests think they already know, can still get better.
Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby Sets a New Bar for Downtown Disney
Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby recently opened at Downtown Disney. We were blown away by the Beef Wellington, priced at $73 and served with potato puree, fresh herb salad, and red wine demi. It lived up to every bit of its reputation. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare and wrapped in crispy puff pastry with mushroom duxelles and Dijon mustard, our reporter called it “utter perfection,” and the red wine demi and elevated potato puree rounded out a genuinely show-stopping plate. This restaurant is worth booking if you want a meal that impresses even seasoned Disney food reporters, if your family is fans of Gordon Ramsay and his shows, or if you simply need a slower, more upscale pace during an otherwise chaotic Disneyland day. Our takeaway: this quickly became one of our favorite Downtown Disney restaurants, full stop.
Taken together, these five meals show just how wide the range of “worth it” can be at Disney. Sometimes it’s a $13 appetizer at a lounge, and sometimes it’s a $73 entrée at a celebrity chef’s table — and both can earn a spot on your must-do list. The throughline across everything we ate this month was flavor experimentation: kitchens across both coasts are leaning into bold sweet-and-spicy combinations, elevating quick-service classics, and proving that even reliable comfort foods like cheese bread and chicken strips can be reinvented in new ways. Our biggest lesson for readers planning their own trips is to keep an open mind about where you spend your dining budget — some of the best bites we had all month weren’t at the fanciest restaurants.

Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby is now open at Downtown Disney, and it’s already super popular. Not only is it a brand-new, one-of-a-kind concept by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, but it’s every Disney fan’s dream, with an outdoor terrace featuring great views of the fireworks.

So it’s really no surprise that all reservations until the end of September were snatched up within 15 minutes of the booking launch. But if you also lost the OpenTable War trying to get a reservation there, then today is your lucky day. It just got easier to dine at The Carnaby!
After selling out initial reservations through September, Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby has now increased its nightly dining capacity, expanded dinner hours, and released new reservations as part of its phased opening. You can reserve these newly released tables right now for dates through December 30th, 2026, on both OpenTable and the restaurant’s website.
Beef Wellington
Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby is now open nightly for dinner from 4 PM to 10 PM, adding an extra half hour from the previous 4:30 to 10 PM hours. Reservations are open for nearly every day until the end of the year at every hour and half hour. They also accept walk-ins, which should be successful with their increased availability, but The Carnaby still strongly recommends advance reservations.
Parker
“The excitement surrounding The Carnaby has exceeded even our highest expectations,” said Robert Earl, founder of Earl Enterprises, which is a co-owner of The Carnaby in collaboration with Gordon Ramsay. “Seeing initial reservations sell out within minutes affirmed what we believed from the beginning: guests were ready for a dining experience unlike anything else at Downtown Disney. As we thoughtfully expand capacity, we’re excited to welcome even more guests while maintaining the exceptional hospitality and culinary experience that define The Carnaby.”
Gordon Ramsay at the Carnaby
If you’re headed to The Carnaby for dinner, we strongly recommend the Parker Rolls for a starter, which are warm and fluffy brioche rolls. The Beef Wellington is famous for a reason, and it was utter perfection! As for side dishes, the Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese was thick and creamy with a strong smoke flavor. And to finish with dessert, the Sticky Toffee Pudding is a warm, decadent must-have!

A new restaurant from one of our favorite celebrity chefs has finally opened at Disneyland!
Let’s eat!
Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby is now open at Downtown Disney, and we’re taking you along with us to try it for the first time. Should this new restaurant be at the top of your list when visiting? Let’s find out!
Atmosphere
Right off the bat, we were in love with how open the space feels. It brings those California vibes in but serves classic British dishes, including some of Gordon Ramsay’s most famous dishes.
Outdoor seating
The terrace overlooks Downtown Disney and offers a great view of the fireworks on select nights.
The view
It will serve dinner from 4:30 PM to 10 PM. You can make a reservation on OpenTable, though some walk-up tables may be available.
Inside bar
Menu
The menu is packed with British favorites plus a few American classics. There are appetizers that include Parker Rolls and G.F.C. Chicken Wings…
If you’re a fan of Gordon Ramsay, you might see a few familiar dishes on the entrees list! There’s a Beef Wellington and Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips, and we noticed other British classics like Bangers & Mash and Cottage Pie.
First up, we started with the Parker Rolls for $14, which are warm brioche and whipped butter.
Parker Rolls
What a perfect way to start off our meal! These were warm, fluffy, and delicious. The brioche bread was buttery, with a slightly baked, crunchy outside and a moist, soft, flaky interior. There was also salt on top, and it felt seasoned to perfection. Everything paired really well with the butter, too.
SO fluffy
We couldn’t resist the Beef Wellington! This costs $73 and is served with potato puree, fresh herb salad, and a red wine demi.
Beef Wellington
The Beef Wellington is famous for a reason, and our reporter called it “utter perfection.” It was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, then wrapped in a crispy puff pastry with mushroom duxelles and Dijon mustard. The red wine demi-glace poured over it complemented the dish and brought it together. We even loved the potato puree, which was like elevated mashed potatoes that went beautifully with the red wine demi as well.
Perfectly cooked
We also had the Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips for $33, which comes with triple-cooked chips, tartar sauce, and mushy peas.
Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips
The tartar sauce totally stole the show on this one! Without the sauce, we felt the breading on the fish was a little bland, and the fish itself was a little over-salted. It wasn’t quite our favorite, and the fries didn’t really stand out to us either. Now, once you add that tartar sauce, we did enjoy it, but we might opt for something else since there are so many fun things we want to try on the menu.
Flaky
Then we tried the Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese for $16, which is one of the side options.
Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese
The mac and cheese felt elevated from your traditional mac and cheese with that smoked gouda flavor coming through. It has a thick, creamy texture that complements the perfectly cooked noodles. The gouda has that smoky flavor, but it’s not overpowering and pairs well with the rest of the sauce and noodles. Even once it cooled down, it stayed creamy and gooey, and our reporter said, “probably the best mac and cheese of my life.” Now that’s a huge compliment!
Digging in
Finally, we ended our meal with the Sticky Toffee Pudding for $15. This is a warm date cake with ice cream, topped with toffee sauce.
Sticky Toffee Pudding
Now this is the perfect way to end the meal — seriously, don’t skip this one! It was insanely delicious. It was ooey and gooey, and an easy dessert to share at the table because it was so rich. The toffee sauce was served warm and complemented the cake, and the ice cream on top was just what it needed to tie it all up together in a delicious bow. Incredible.
SO good
Nosh or Not
You should head to Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby if…
You’re looking for a show-stopping meal — We were blown away by almost everything we ordered, and trust us, we eat a lot of Disney food! The restaurant truly blew away our expectations, and it is easily going to be near the top of our favorite Downtown Disney restaurants.
You are a celebrity chef fan — If your family has watched every season of Hell’s Kitchen together, the restaurant can feel nostalgic. You can finally try all the dishes you’ve heard about on TV from Gordon Ramsay’s actual recipes, which can be a dream come true.
You’re ready a more upscale meal and somehwere to relax — Disneyland can be full of chaos and running around and sometimes, it’s ncie to sit back and relax over a longer meal. It can be great for a special date night or celebration, or just when you need a few moments during your trip.
You might want to skip if…
You prefer more affordable options — While we felt like the portion sizes were good for the dishes, it’s still a hefty price tag, especially for some of the more iconic dishes like Beef Wellington. The bill can easily add up for a party of two, so you can imagine what it is for the whole family.
You’re not planning on dining in Downtown Disney — There are plenty of food options throughout Disneyland, and you might not want to leave the parks for a longer meal there. While Downtown Disney is nearby (unlike Disney Springs in Disney World), you can still lose precious park time that you might not be willing to spare.
You have access to great British food — While it can feel special in America, if going back home means you already have your favorite fish and chip place, it might not be necessary to take the time to try food you can have at home.
Gordon Ramsay at the Carnaby
Overall
We had a seriously good time here! The restaurant exceeded our expectations, and the service was top tier. We felt like the portion sizes were great, and almost all of our dishes were major hits that we would order again. If you’re a Gordon Ramsay fan, you’ll want to come try his signature dishes, but even if you don’t care whose name is on the outside, you’ll find classic dishes taken to the next level and full of flavor. We couldn’t stop saying “delicious” the whole time, and we’ll be back easily to try more.
In the meantime, keep following Disney Food Blog for more restaurant reviews, so you know what’s worth stopping for on your Disney trip. June Gloom has burned off, and Southern California’s summer heat has arrived. But unlike in years past, the crowds haven’t followed. July is traditionally one of Disneyland’s busiest months, yet attendance has remained noticeably light so far. Budget-busting prices may be part of the reason. That could also explain why Disneyland’s limited $59 Evening Ticket […]

Downtown Disney is undergoing lots of changes, similar to the rest of Disneyland Resort, and there’s one restaurant we’re really looking forward to finally experiencing.
Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby
Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby is a new restaurant coming to Downtown Disney with an expected opening timeline of the latter half of 2026. The restaurant is brought to life by both Gordon Ramsay and the creators of Earl of Sandwich, conveniently located right next door, and now, we’ve just gotten our first look at the INSIDE of the new restaurant!
The restaurant just revealed a first look at the interior of the restaurant on their social media, saying that the restaurant will bring “the vibrant spirit of London’s legendary Carnaby Street to @downtowndisney with elevated British fare, inventive cocktails, and an energetic dining experience.”

The restaurant will bring the lively energy of the ’60s to life, as it’s inspired by London’s well-known Carnaby Street. Inside, the location features plush interiors and three distinct dining environments, including an outdoor terrace and bar. We also know we’ll get to hear an “irresistible soundtrack” of British Invasion rock bands while we dine, but live bands will also be playing on select evenings.

The theme park summer season has only just started, and Disneyland is already thinking about Halloween.
