If you’re visiting Disneyland and happen to be a massive Pixar fan, you may choose to stay at Pixar Place Hotel, which is…as you may have guessed from the name…dedicated to all things Pixar. You can even see the gigantic Pixar lamp and ball in the hotel lobby, as well as meet some rare Pixar characters like Joe from Soul and Bing Bong from Inside Out.

Well, four things have been closed for a little while at this hotel, but we’ve got great news: all four closures are ending this month.

On September 8th, the Pixel Pool and the Paradise Spa at Pixar Place Hotel both closed for refurbishment. However, both are scheduled to reopen on September 19th. This is good news if you’ll be on vacation at the hotel and want to use the pool or take a break in the hotel’s spa.

The Crush Surfin’ Slide and splash pad at Nemo’s Cove also closed on September 8th, but you’ll be able to visit both soon, on September 25th. So if you’re looking for a little extra play time at the hotel, you’ll be able to do that soon, too.

At the moment, no other closures have been reported for this hotel, so everything will be open there by the end of the month. So if you’ve been waiting to book a stay there, now’s a good time as any. There’s a lot of fun Pixar-themed things to appreciate about the hotel, including nods to Pixar shorts, a fitness center, fireworks viewing from the rooftop pool deck, and more.

FULL TOUR: The NEW Signature Suites at Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel Are OUTRAGEOUSLY Fun

In 2021, Disneyland announced a new initiative to expand its theme parks and resort with the DisneylandForward initiative. Fast forward to now, in 2026, and we’re starting to see some of that expansion happening, with Avengers Campus getting two new rides, a new Coco ride in the works, and an entirely new Avatar land announced.

However, in order for those big expansions to work, Disneyland needs other changes, too, including a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard. Well, plans are already in place for that bridge, and according to The Orange County Register, work will begin this week with the demolition of four ticket booths.

Demolition work will begin this week, starting with the eastern ticket booths on the esplanade between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Permits have been filed to demolish the four ticket booths closest to Harbor Boulevard. Those permits list that the foundations will be removed and utilities capped at each of those booths.

Disney has plans for a new parking structure and transportation hub on the east side of the resort. Part of the Manchester Cast member parking lot will be used for part of that project, which will provide around 6,000 parking spaces, shuttle and rideshare services, additional security screening, and dedicated access for traffic off Disney Way. From concept art of the project, this transportation hub will also feature a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard. The ticket booths are being demolished ahead of constructing that pedestrian bridge.

The pedestrian bridge would span over the monorail with pedestrians passing between the Tropicana Inn and Camelot Inn hotels on Harbor Boulevard’s east side, connecting the existing Disney bus area to the Manchester employee parking lot, where the new Disneyland bus drop-off and pick-up area will be. The new parking garage and bridge are necessary steps as Disneyland builds new lands and attractions over the next five years as part of DisneylandForward.

Are you ready? Halloween is a BIG deal in Disneyland, like even bigger than in Disney World, and when it arrives, all the spookiness hits Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney in a HUGE way. And don’t even get us started on Oogie Boogie Bash, one of the BEST Disney Halloween parties.

It’s called Halloween Time, and Disneyland goes all out with decor, characters in Halloween outfits, special food and snacks, and so much more. Well, Halloween Time has officially kicked off in Disneyland, and we’re there getting spooky with it.

Halloween Time runs from August 21st through October 31st, and the first sign you’ll see of it is at the park entrances. The Disneyland entrance gets some fun character pumpkins on top of its gates.

Once you make your way into Disneyland, you’ll see a giant Mickey pumpkin that folks are probably standing in line for to get a photo with — it’s pretty epic.

Be sure to take some time to visit with characters — they’ve all dressed up just for the occasion! Check out Minnie’s sweet Halloween outfit!

Goofy is sporting his best Halloween gear, too!

You’ll also see other Halloween decor throughout the park.

Over in Frontierland, in front of the Golden Horseshoe, you’ll see the Halloween Tree, which is a tribute to legendary sci-fi author Ray Bradbury, who also just happened to be friends with Walt Disney.

In New Orleans Square, Haunted Mansion has been given a Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, turning it into Haunted Mansion Holiday. This overlay will last throughout the Halloween and holiday seasons.

Inside, you’ll see an impressive gingerbread house in the ballroom scene, and this year’s gingerbread house is a brand NEW design.

Disney California Adventure’s entrance gets an Oogie Boogie theme, and listen up, because you’ll HEAR Oogie Boogie speaking from time to time.

Meanwhile, Carthay Circle Restaurant has been infested by a cloud of “bats” overhead.

Be sure to stop and get a photo with the Headless Horseman statue on Buena Vista Street, too.

Cars Land becomes Radiator Screams (instead of Radiator Springs…get it?).

The land gets a ton of spooky decor, including some of your favorite Cars characters dressed in costumes. You’ll also be able to get a ride on Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.

In the late afternoon each day, Guardians of the Galaxy closes briefly and then reopens as Guardians of the Galaxy — Monsters After Dark. Yep, the ride gets an all-new scary story and scenes.

Plaza de la Familia has also returned to California Adventure. This is a celebration of Día de los Muertos, and includes special entertainment, arts and crafts, special decor, and a memory wall where you can add your own memories.

Did we mention the food? There are HUNDREDS of Halloween menu snacks and drinks to bite into during Halloween Time. You can see the full list of Halloween and fall snacks in Disneyland here. Yes, there are A LOT.

Of course, we had to try one of these special treats, the Rest in Chocolate, which is available at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlour for $12.79. It comes with Chocolate Cookie Crumbles, Gummy Worms, and a Chocolate Tombstone. First, you get a lot of snack for your money! It’s two HUGE scoops of ice cream (you choose the flavor), so it’s easily shareable. And let’s just say…it not only looks SWEET, but it tastes pretty nice, too. It’s got a very cookies and cream-inspired flavor that just about anyone is going to love.

Also, don’t miss out on Halloween shopping in both parks and Downtown Disney. You might just find that perfect spook-tacular souvenir. That includes clothing and a Halloween Mickey bubble wand…

…new Coco apparel…

…ears, bags, accessories…

…a SWEET Haunted Mansion Holiday varsity jacket…

…a Hatbox Ghost sling bag, and more!

Other places you can find Halloween in Disneyland include the Disneyland Hotel, which will have a Haunted Mansion decor theme this year, while Pixar Place Hotel is going with a Monsters, Inc. theme for the occasion. Meanwhile, at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, the culinary team has created a MONSTROUS creation to be admired in the hotel’s lobby. Be sure to visit the snack cart there, too, for some faBOOlous treats.

Don’t forget that character dining at the hotels is also getting fall and Halloween experiences. Storytellers Cafe hosts Mickey’s Autumn Adventures for breakfast and brunch, while Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner takes over for dinner. Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween will be available at Disneyland Hotel.

If you want a Halloween glow-up, visit the Disney stylists at Tenaya Stone Spa at the Grand Californian for a special Halloween look with hair, makeup, or nails. You can even indulge in the Wicked to the Core foot treatment.

Over in Downtown Disney, you can watch some of your favorite Disney Halloween movies (like Hocus Pocus) at The Downtown Disney LIVE! stage and lawn on select nights.

Also, be sure to play Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit, a scavenger hunt where you’re tasked to find character pumpkins hidden throughout Downtown Disney. All you have to do is buy a map at select stores, find the pumpkins, and turn them in for a cool prize. This year’s prize is your choice of these cute little character bags!

Like we said, Disneyland does NOT come to play when it comes to Halloween, and if you get a chance to visit for the spooky season, you should check it out.

This Is NOT A Drill! We Know All The Halloween Treats Coming To Disneyland

We have to admit it…there are some really great restaurants in Downtown Disney, and a lot of them are still pretty new. We’ve found some of our favorite new places to eat with all the updates the shopping and dining district has made…and even MORE restaurants are still on the way.

Now, we were most excited about Gordon Ramsay at the Carnaby, which recently opened in Downtown Disney. Well, now there’s a NEW reason to get excited about this restaurant: it’s now serving lunch seven days a week!

That’s right, you can now have lunch at Downtown Disney’s newest restaurant from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. AND here’s the most exciting part: the lunch menu features some brand NEW menu items. YES! The two new dishes are:

• The Idiot Sandwich (yes, Ramsay fans will immediately recognize the reference) — thrice-fried chicken breast, G.F.C. sauce and dill pickle on a brioche bun, served with choice of fries or salad

• The Prawn Cocktail Roll — layers of poached prawns with Marie Rose sauce, avocado purée, American caviar and malt vinegar crisps

Of course, you’ll also still be able to get many of the restaurant’s signature dishes, including Beef Wellington, Fish & Chips with fries, Cottage Pie, Bangers & Mash, The Carnaby Wagyu Burger, and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Yes, in case you didn’t notice, the restaurant has a very British theme and is inspired by London’s Carnaby Street during the 1960s.

“There is something particularly exciting about bringing The Carnaby’s music, color, and unmistakable sense of fun into the middle of the day,” said Robert Earl, Founder of Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby. “Lunch gives guests another way to make The Carnaby part of their Downtown Disney District experience, with new dishes that add a distinct daytime expression to the menu.”

It’s Halloween, Lo-ween, everybody (if you know, you know). Halloween Time has arrived in Disneyland, and you know what that means: it’s also Oogie Boogie Bash time!

Oogie Boogie Bash is a special ticketed event in Disney California Adventure held on select nights from August 18th through October 31st. It’s like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party…but a little spookier, as one might expect from a party hosted by Oogie Boogie. The party features exclusive entertainment, food and drinks, character meet and greets, and more. You can also trick-or-treat at treat trails throughout the park, and we’re going to give you the full rundown of every treat trail available this year.

Treat trails are set up throughout California Adventure. These are trails that you walk through to go trick-or-treating in the park, and yes, even adults can trick-or-treat during party hours. You’ll get LOADS of candy, including some full-sized treats, and you can even visit treat trails more than once if you want to REALLY stock up on candy.

But what makes Oogie Boogie Bash’s treat trails so special is that some of them have exclusive characters, including some of your favorite villains, like Agatha Harkness, Sid from Toy Story, Oogie Boogie, Yokai from Big Hero 6, and more. So let’s take a look at those treat trails first. The newest character to have a treat trail this year is Yzma — you’ll find her treat trail in Grizzly Peak.

Can’t have an Oogie Boogie Bash without Oogie Boogie, and you’ll find his treat trail at the Disney Animation building in Hollywood Land.

Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb is back again this year with a treat trail at the Disney Junior Theater in Hollywood Land.

Ernesto de la Cruz is serenading trick-or-treaters at the treat trail located just outside Avengers Campus in Hollywood Land.

Syndrome is still plotting against The Incredibles at the treat trail in Pixar Pier near Pixar Pal-Around.

You’ll find Agatha Harkness casting some dark spells over in Avengers Campus at the Sanctum.

The Mistress of Evil herself, Maleficent, is guarding a treat trail in Grizzly Peak.

Hades is lurking at a Treat Trail near Monsters, Inc.: Mike & Sulley to the Rescue.

Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit can be found near Hollywood Lounge in Hollywood Land.

Of course, other treat trails are just ALL about the candy, and you can check those out, too. Be sure to look in your guidebook or on the Disneyland app to find them all!

We’ve discovered that you can really get a LOT of candy in Disneyland if you visit the treat trails (the Cast Members are VERY generous and throw handfuls into your bag). That’s why we recommend not using the free treat bag they give you at the beginning of the party. Instead, bring a larger one from home…trust us, you’ll need it.

Who’s ready for some massive Avengers Campus news?

So, we’ve been super excited ever since Disney promised a huge expansion to Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure that will bring two NEW rides to the land that sound pretty amazing. Well, we’ve learned a little more about that expansion, and now we have brand new details to share!

We’re LIVE at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where we’re learning a LOT more about all the new lands and expansions coming to Disney Parks. Well, we just got some huge updates about the Avengers Campus expansion over in Disneyland, so let’s get into all the details of what we’ve learned. Thanks to a sneak peek we just got at the Imagineering: Horizons exhibit, we now have a model of the new expansion to look at!

From the model, we can see what a MASSIVE expansion this really is, especially because we really are getting our own Avengers Tower! The largest part of this expansion will be for Avengers Infinity Defense, one of the two new attractions on its way. This is a ride that will take you on an adventure through the multiverse to go up against King Thanos (yep, he’s King of everything in an alternate universe, and that’s a very bad thing). Here’s the plot: “Technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere. Recruits will travel to iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City alongside the likes of big and small heroes… You also just might find yourself face-to-face with King Thanos, too.”

The second ride being added to the land is Stark Flight Lab, which will take you on a tour through Tony Stark’s lab so you can literally ride on a simulator that makes it seem like you’re flying in one of Iron Man’s suits. This new model also gives us a look at what the part of the attraction will look like.

You’ll be seated in a two-person “gyro-kinetic pod” that will roll along a track and then connect to a robot arm that will sling you around like you’re flying. Needless to say, this ride might NOT be for everyone, but it looks SO cool. Check out the look we got at the ride vehicle/seats below — they look pretty epic!

Everything You Need To Know About D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event!

In 2024, performers at Disneyland unionized with the Actors’ Equity Association, the same union that represents Broadway and live theater productions in the U.S.

The new union calls itself “Magic Unlimited” and represents entertainment cast members, including theatrical performers, parade performers, and character performers, as well as hosts, leads, and trainers that support Disney’s entertainment cast. Now, according to The Los Angeles Times, those Cast Members are facing a new proposal from Disneyland that takes away a paid parental leave benefit and offers fewer holidays.

The 1,700 Disneyland Cast Members represented by Magic United are both full-time and part-time workers. They are now reporting that Disney is threatening to take away paid parental leave and proposing fewer holidays as they negotiate a new contract that includes higher wages. This includes Cast Members who support Disneyland’s parades, shows, and characters, including those who perform as some of Disney’s most iconic characters.

According to a union member, the current proposal from Disney does not include paid parental leave, cuts the number of paid holidays from 12 to 11, and decreases the amount Disney matches for employee contributions to 401(k) plans.

A Disneyland spokesperson, though, pointed out that the proposal could change as these negotiations are new and being done with Magic United for the first time, which is different from modifying an existing contract. So Disneyland maintains no benefits are being cut and that the 11 holidays match what more than 80% of current Disneyland Cast Members already receive.

These Cast Members received up to eight weeks of paid parental leave before they organized. However, now that Disney and the union are negotiating a first contract, existing benefits are not guaranteed to carry over, meaning Disney can claim that no benefits have been cut.  “They are trying to strip away the very things that make the Disneyland experience what it is,” said Al Vincent Jr., Actors’ Equity’s executive director. “When you propose to take away paid parental leave from those who work day in and day out to give other families great experiences, that’s not family friendly.”

10 Weeks When Disneyland Will Be Empty in 2027

 

If you’ve been to Disneyland, you might agree with us when we say that Disneyland has some of the best food, snacks, and drinks of ALL the parks. Between things like churros, churro toffee, Mickey beignets, and corn dogs, Disneyland just keeps CRUSHING the food game.

However, Disneyland also releases a lot of delicious seasonal and limited-time treats, and something new is arriving all the time. So when we learned about four new snacks in Downtown Disney and at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, we rushed to the shopping and dining district to check them out for ourselves.

Let’s start at the Grand Californian Hotel. Every month, GCH Craftsman Grill offers a Hot Dog of the Month, and this month’s hot dog is the Aloha Bacon Dog for $18, which is an All-Beef Hot Dog topped with Maui onion aioli, applewood smoked bacon, mango-pineapple relish, crispy shallots, and fried green onions, and served on a toasted Hawaiian sweet roll. First up, serving this on a Hawaiian roll was a stroke of genius — that just adds that bit of extra flavor that makes this hot dog go from good to great.

You’ve got a nice sweet and tart flavor coming from the relish, but the bacon adds a nice smokiness. However, we didn’t really taste the onion aioli. We kinda’ wish this had some kind of sauce on it, too, and think that’s the only thing it was really missing. There’s a nice crunch from the shallots and fried green onions, so the texture is on point, too. We were served sweet potato fries on the side, which really brought the whole meal together and made it worth the price.

Then we headed into Downtown Disney to hit up Beignets Expressed. We picked up the Breakfast Duo for $9.99, which is a Berry Bliss and Coco Crunch Beignet.

The Berry Bliss has a berry glaze on it that tastes a little too artificial. It’s playing on the flavors of Fruity Pebbles, so maybe that’s the point. We did like the fruity cereal on top that gave it a good crunch, but the artificial flavors make this overbearingly sweet.

The Choco Crunch was perfectly sweet, though. It has a light glaze and Cocoa Pebbles on top, and all of these flavors really worked well together. It’s the perfect amount of chocolatiness that doesn’t take too much away from the beignet itself. This is our favorite of the two beignets we tried.

Finally, we headed over to Parkside Market to visit GG’s Chicken Shop, but we weren’t there for chicken. Instead, we ordered the Family Gold D23 Cheesecake for $8, which is in honor of the upcoming D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. It’s a creamy mascarpone and purple ube cheesecake atop a graham cracker crust, topped with a D23 chocolate wafer. First, you need to really like ube because that’s the biggest flavor you’re going to get here.

You do get a bit of a cheesecake flavor and texture, but the ube is the star here. We did like that the ube flavor tasted natural.

REVIEW: Is This New Disney Snack Even Better Than We Imagined?

When it comes to iconic rides and classic attractions, Haunted Mansion could be at the top of almost every Disney fan’s list. The ride could be one of the most unique in the world, known for both its spooky vibe, as well as its dark humor. That makes it a must-ride when you visit Disneyland.

Well, if you’ve been looking forward to hopping on a Doom Buggy for an adventure through the Haunted Mansion next week, you might be surprised — the ride is scheduled to close soon.

That’s right, Haunted Mansion is closing on Saturday, August 8th. It won’t be closed for long and will reopen on August 21st, but it will be different. That’s because the closure is an annual one, when Disney puts The Nightmare Before Christmas overlay on the ride so that it becomes Haunted Mansion Holiday through the Halloween and holiday season. So same ride…but also, different!

However, if you’re looking to ride the classic version of Haunted Mansion, you only have a few days left to do so. After that, Haunted Mansion Holiday will stick around through January. Of course, Haunted Mansion Holiday is also worthy of a ride as it’s one of the best themed overlays we’ve seen on a Disney attraction. Somehow, Disney pulled off merging the concept of Haunted Mansion with The Nightmare Before Christmas, and it works beautifully.

Because Haunted Mansion Holiday is only available during certain parts of the year, though, that does mean the ride is super popular. Expect long lines to get inside. We recommend taking advantage of Lightning Lane Multi Pass to bypass the long standby line. Note that purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass in Disneyland also gets you free access to all your digital PhotoPass downloads, so for that alone, it’s generally worth it.

10 Weeks When Disneyland Will Be Empty in 2027

It’s a pretty annoying problem when you get to the parks and your favorite ride is closed, whether that be for a ride refurbishment or something else. But it happens, which is why we always tell everyone to check park calendars before they visit a Disney Park.

Well, in Disneyland, there are several upcoming ride closures in August and September, but we just confirmed two more ride closures that are coming up soon. So we’re going to warn you about those so you can plan accordingly.

One of the rides that will be closing soon is the Mad Tea Party, a popular ride in Fantasyland (at least for those people who like to spin around in circles until they get dizzy). According to the Disneyland calendar, Mad Tea Party will close on September 14th. Disney has not yet revealed a reopening date for the ride.

Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island will also be closing soon, on September 14th. This is a walkthrough attraction with pirate caves, treasure scenes, and interactive features themed around Pirates of the Caribbean. Disney has also not confirmed a reopening date for this attraction.

We also want to remind you of previously announced closures coming up soon. Haunted Mansion will close on August 8th to become Haunted Mansion Holiday with a Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. The ride with the overlay will reopen on August 20th.

Main Street Cinema will close on August 10th and reopen on August 27th. Indiana Jones Adventure will close on September 8th. Disney has not confirmed a reopening date for that ride. The Mark Twain Riverboat will close on September 8th and reopen on September 11th.

Planning a trip to Disneyland is a lot different than planning a trip to Disney World. First, you don’t really need to do so much planning (and a lot of us LOVE that). Why You SHOULDN’T Stay in a Disney Hotel at Disneyland Resort

Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort has been going through a TON of changes recently. But no restaurant has probably seen as many changes in the shopping and dining district as Earl of Sandwich.

This restaurant has changed locations so many times that we were starting to get worried about it until Disney announced it was building a brand NEW permanent location for the dining spot. Well, that new location is now open for business, and we recently attended the grand opening. Let’s check it out together!

That’s right, Earl of Sandwich’s days of playing musical chairs in Downtown Disney are over. Its new location is all shiny, new, and open. We got to attend a media event celebrating its opening, so we can share some of what we know about the new location. Even Mickey Mouse showed up to celebrate the new Earl of Sandwich location!

Inside, it looks just like the same Earl of Sandwich you know and love. It’s a bright interior with pops of red and blue.

There’s also plenty of seating available inside, which we appreciate!

The menu is the same Earl of Sandwich items you’re already familiar with.

This includes The Earl’s Club, The Original 1762, The Full Montague, Holiday Turkey, and more. Breakfast sandwiches are also available, as well as wraps, salads, soups, and more.

Disneyland Hits Major Milestone Just Days Before 71st Birthday

It’s no secret that if you asked us which Disney resort in the U.S. had the best food, we’d probably answer Disneyland. There’s just so MUCH good food to get there, including the BEST corn dogs, Mickey beignets, cheesy garlic pretzel bread, those chocolate chip cookies at Harbour Galley, and more. Disneyland knows how to do food.

Well, one of the most popular restaurants in Disney California Adventure, Carthay Circle Restaurant, just added a ton of NEW food to its menu, and well, now you’ve got even MORE great food to choose from in Disneyland.

Yep, you’ll be able to grab some NEW food at Carthay Circle Restaurant now, including some starters, which include:

• Crispy Pork Belly Glazed with Gochujang Butter — Siracha AÏoli, Japanese Pancake for $24
• Summer Watermelon Habanero Aguachile — Jicama, Pepitas, Cotija Cheese for $18
• Seasonal Stone Fruit & Tomato Salad — Burrata Cheese, Basil, Pine Nuts, Tomato Vinaigrette
  $26 for $26

New entrees include the following:

• Grilled American Wagyu Picanha — Grilled Corn, Peach-Chimichurri for $62
• “Tamarind-Adobo” Half Chicken — Chilled Rice Noodle Salad, Roasted Sesame Vinaigrette for $46
• Lamb Shawarma Cutlets — Aubergine Hummus, Tomato Mint Chutney, Warm Naan for $60
• Tagliolini Pasta with Poblano Pesto — Shrimp, Bay Scallops, Mussels, Clams for $48

The Carthay Circle Lounge also added some new menu items.  New alfresco dining options include:

• Summer Berry Salad — Honey Goat Cheese, Sunflower Seeds, Citrus-Poppyseed Crisp for $18
• Char Siu Glazed Salmon — Bok Choy, Broccoli, Spicy Kombu-Soy Broth for $24
• Cheese Tortellini — Basil Pesto, Pomodoro Sauce, Grana Padano Cheese for $22
• El Pastor Roasted Chicken Breast — Grilled Corn, Zucchini, Poblano Sauce for $24

For dessert, the following was added:

• Strawberry-Matcha Popsicle — Strawberry Elixir, Matcha Cold Foam for $15

• Rainbow Inspiration Trifle — layers of neon-tinted vanilla sponge, silky Chantilly cream, and strawberry compote, and finished with a dusting of “magic stardust” cake crumbles.
• The Fantastic Dream Mocktail — Seedlip Garden spirit, Lyre’s London dry gin alternative, lavender syrup, lemon, blueberries, and a plant-based, egg-free foam.

There are also some offers you need to know about for Magic Key Holders. You can get a free bowl card at Splitsville Luxury Lanes with any food or beverage purchase.

3 Disneyland Traditions Canceled for 2027

My Disney Experience (aka the Disney World app) and the Disneyland app are really your gateway to the theme parks and beyond. These apps allow you to do everything, including purchasing and booking Lightning Lanes, checking wait times, scanning you into the parks, letting you mobile order food, and so much more.

However, the apps were previously only available in one language: English. Well, that’s changed, and now you can get Spanish translation on both apps!

Back in May, Disney promised a Spanish language version of My Disney Experience and the Disneyland app, and it seems like the company has finally started to roll out that update. New screenshots of My Disney Experience have been released with the app translated into Spanish.

Before the rollout of this feature, most Spanish-language speakers had to use tools like Google Translate to navigate around the app. Right now, most pages of the app are available in Spanish, but both Mobile Order and Mobile Checkout are still only available in English. It’s probably only a matter of time before Disney updates those pages, too, though.

The feature is rolling out to phones,  so you might not see it yet, and the app will only be translated if your phone settings are set to Spanish. However, it’s another app update that plenty of folks have been waiting for, so navigating both Disney World and Disneyland just got a little bit easier. However, note that you can access several languages on the Disney World and Disneyland websites, including Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Japanese.

6 HUGE Disney World App Changes CONFIRMED

Pirates of the Caribbean. Is there any more beloved classic Disney ride? It’s become so popular that it even launched a series of highly successful movies, and we’re not going to get tired of it any time soon.

As most folks believe, the Disneyland version of Pirates of the Caribbean is far superior because it’s longer and has more scenes, but the ride recently reopened in Disneyland with some changes that could prove…dare we say…controversial? So let’s talk about it.

Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean closed back in May for a lengthy refurbishment. Well, the ride reopened today, but with some HUGE changes. Those changes concern the animatronics tech. Walt Disney Imagineering recently posted a video about these changes, calling it the “next level” of animatronics.

Disney calls this a “hybridized technology,” and it combines…wait for it…mixing animatronic movement with…projected faces. Now, we know what projected faces look like on animatronic figures because of Disney World’s previous version of Frozen Ever After. Many Disney fans did not like the look of those faces, and Disney eventually replaced them with full animatronics.

But at least one character in Pirates of the Caribbean is getting this updated look, although it’s combined with a partially articulated animatronic face underneath it that can also move. The video talks about how this allows the characters to cry and emote in ways they haven’t been able to before.

It seems Disney only used this new tech on one character in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and it’s the static skull character you see sitting on top of all the pirate loot. He’s generally seen as a static skeleton.

Now, though, this skeleton comes alive and tells his story of how he touched the cursed gold, which turned him into a skeleton. He also drops the coin, which turns him back into a human.

If you want to see this technology for yourself, Pirates of the Caribbean has reopened in Disneyland with this new animatronic. At around 9:15 A.M., the wait time was only about 20 minutes, too, so now is a good opportunity to ride this classic attraction and decide for yourself if this new technology works for it.

My Disney Experience is a pretty robust app that lets you do just about everything you need when you visit Disney World. You can use the app to check in to your hotel room, unlock your hotel room door, connect to your MagicBand, act as your ticket into the parks, check wait times, book Lightning Lanes, and so much more.

The app also lets you pay for food via mobile order, as well as pay for merchandise through mobile checkout, but if you want to use a gift card to pay for those things, it’s always been kind of a hassle when using the app. Well, Disney FINALLY fixed that problem and you can set the app to pay with a gift card by default now. 

Previously, if you wanted to use a gift card to pay for something through the My Disney Experience app, you’d have to manually add in the gift card number every time you wanted to use it. That’s why we’ve previously suggested saving the gift card number in a notes app so you can copy and paste it into My Disney Experience.

But that has now changed (and seriously, this is something we’ve been wanting for a LONG time). Well, now both My Disney Experience AND the Disneyland app (yep, Disneyland got included in this update, too) now allow you to add Disney gift cards as your default payment method. Here’s how it works:

1. Click on the three lines on the far right bottom of the My Disney Experience app screen.
2. Scroll down and choose MyDisney Wallet under “Account”
3. Click on “Add a Payment Method”
4. Choose Disney Gift Card
5. Type in the 16-Digit gift card number and details
6. Click on “Save payment card information to MyDisney Wallet”
7. Click on “Confirm.”

SO easy, right? Then the gift card will be used when you make a purchase through the app. However, this doesn’t yet work with purchasing Lightning Lane options, but, hey, at least we’re getting there with other things!

So if you want to use a gift card to pay for mobile orders, mobile check-out items, and tickets, you now have an easy way to do so.

6 HUGE Disney World App Changes CONFIRMED

Disneyland’s Downtown Disney has gone through some SERIOUS changes. We’ve seen restaurants and shops close, while new restaurants and shops have opened. Even Marceline’s Confectionery went away to make way for The Wonderful World of Sweets (and honestly, we LOVE the new sweets shop).

We recently passed on the news about a new snack stand coming to Downtown Disney, called Happy Ice. Well, BIG news…Happy Ice is opening sooner than you may think…as in TOMORROW.

That’s right, Happy Ice will be opening its Downtown Disney cart tomorrow, June 19th, which is also Juneteenth. Happy Ice was founded by Lemeir Mitchell and is a Los Angeles Black-owned Philadelphia Italian ice brand known for its fruity flavors and frozen desserts. Happy Ice’s opening in Downtown Disney will mark the first permanent Black-owned dessert company in the shopping and dining district.

To celebrate its grand opening, the first 50 people who order at Happy Ice will get a FREE Happy Ice T-Shirt, while the next 50 will get a FREE Happy Ice tote bag. The cart opens at 11 A.M. and will stay open until 11 P.M. So head on over to Downtown Disney early to grab a delicious treat AND some freebies! Here’s a first look at the cart in Downtown Disney:

You’ll be able to enjoy Happy Ice’s first all-natural menu, with treats made with real fruit, pure cane sugar, and premium ingredients. You’ll also be able to order the JOY-LATI layered dessert with Italian ice, vanilla sweet cream, sauces, and fresh fruit with flavors like banana pudding and strawberry shortcake. We’re already drooling!
