NEWS: Changes Hit Disneyland Park Hopping

9 June 2026 at 11:32

Park Hopping just got EASIER in Disneyland. Yes, we are just as excited as you are.

Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland

In Disneyland, Park Hopping lets you jump back and forth between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, but to do this, you need a Park Hopper ticket or a Magic Key pass, their version of Annual Passes. There used to be an 11 AM time limit: you couldn’t hop between parks until after 11 AM, but good news—that’s all changing.

Disney Vacation Planner

There is no longer an 11 AM waiting period to Park Hop, starting on June 9th. Yes!

Dale!

Now, it’s important to note that you might still need to make a park pass reservation, depending on which type of ticket you have. Magic Key Holders, this includes you! You’ll need to choose your park pass reservation for the first park that you are starting in and scanning into first.

Let’s go see Mickey!

This new rule change allows for so much more flexibility. Being able to hop back and forth in the morning is amazing. You can scan into Disneyland, rope drop one ride, and then head to Disney California Adventure for your next one.

Storybook Land Canal Boats

One thing we love about the change is that if reservations are full at one park, you can grab a spot at the other and head there immediately. Easy peasy!

This NEW Feature Will Make Using the Disneyland App 10x EASIER

28 May 2026 at 11:18

When we’re at Disneyland, the Disneyland app is a lifesaver. Where else can you check ride wait times, mobile order food, and find the bathrooms all in one place?

©Disney

While using our Disneyland app recently, we noticed a brand-new addition. Now, you can view guides to the lands in the park!

When we were recently using the Disneyland app, we were able to view a land and see new guides for each land! ToonTown was the first land that came up, so we could see an overview of the land and a little bit about it.

©Disney

There was also a list of ride wait times and height requirements for every ride in the land. We’re pretty sure this is just in testing since not all of us had the feature on our apps, which would explain why the ride times aren’t posted. If it becomes permanent, this would be an awesome feature if it’s your first time at Disneyland with kids!

©Disney

We also found a Dining section! It listed every restaurant in ToonTown and even showed when mobile ordering was available. This will be a lifesaver during a lunch or dinner rush!

©Disney

This new feature isn’t limited to ToonTown; you can also see a guide for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Like ToonTown, there’s a full list of attractions and dining information. But we noticed something new in here – you can see the locations of all the shops in the land!

©Disney

Plus, there’s also a tab for Iconic Characters. With one click, you can see the next time for every Galaxy’s Edge character! No more switching between tabs or manually searching for them.

©Disney

We loved using these guides in our app, and we hope Disney makes it a permanent feature. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World news!

CONFIRMED: Mobile Ordering CHANGE Hits Iconic Disney Restaurant

22 May 2026 at 11:26

We loooove mobile ordering at Disneyland. You can order your food on the go, skip the line, and have hot and ready food in just a few minutes!

Haunted Heatwave Pizza

But the Disneyland app just underwent a major change — mobile ordering looks totally different for one of our favorite Disneyland restaurants!

Click for your FREE Disneyland Snack Map

When we went to mobile order our favorite Disneyland pizza from Alien Pizza Planet, we found that the restaurant no longer offered the traditional Mobile Ordering! After some investigating, it turns out that mobile ordering is still offered at Alien Pizza Planet, but it’s now on a separate page in the app.

Alien Pizza Planet

To mobile order at Alien Pizza Planet now, search for “Alien Pizza Planet Express” in the app. However, this doesn’t offer the full menu. Alien Pizza Planet Express only offers 16-inch pizzas and family-style meals! Currently, mobile ordering only includes six items:

  • Whole Cheese Pizza
  • Whole Pepperoni Pizza
  • Whole Cheese Pizza Family Combo
  • Whole Pepperoni Pizza Family Combo
  • Artisanal Style Cheese Pizza with Magic Key Thermal Tumbler (Magic Key Holder Exclusive)
  • Artisanal Style Pepperoni Pizza with Magic Key Thermal Tumbler  (Magic Key Holder Exclusive)

Alien Pizza Planet

Mobile ordering is no longer available for the full menu. This includes everything – entrees like pizza slices and pasta, sides like salad and breadsticks, kids’ meals, and desserts. If it’s not a family-style meal, it’s not available for mobile ordering! Luckily, the full Alien Pizza Planet menu is still available with regular, in-person ordering.

Haunted Heatwave Pizza from Alien Pizza Planet

It also includes their seasonal offerings of souvenir cups, sippers, straws, and popcorn buckets. Since the Magic Key Holder-exclusive meals are available for mobile ordering, we wouldn’t be surprised if more Magic Key Holder-exclusive merch is available for mobile ordering in the future, but Disney hasn’t confirmed it. These are still available for mobile ordering at other locations in the park, but if you’re hoping to get them all in one place, you’ll have to wait in line.

King Arthur Carrousel Popcorn Bucket

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any more changes to mobile ordering. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disneyland news!

Just Wait Till You See Baby Grogu On The NEW Smugglers Run In Disneyland

Today is a HUGE day in both Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Disney World and Disneyland Park, because we finally got to see the new changes coming to Smugglers Run!

Mando and Grogu are here!

We’ve been waiting for this day for MONTHS, ever since we first heard about the changes, and now the day is finally here. Thanks to Disney, we got a first look at the changes for Disneyland’s Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. What’s really changed with this ride? We’re here to take you through it all!

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

Three NEW missions have been added to the attraction, starring none other than The Mandalorian and Grogu! On this new mission, we’ll be heading to Tatooine, where Grogu and Mando will meet us as we try to capture a pirate and two imperial officers, as well as steal any crates they have on them.

New missions are here!

That’s not all, though! If you’ve ridden this ride previously, you may have always wanted to be a pilot, as they have the most to do (the other two options are gunner and engineer). However, that’s no longer the case, as these changes have made the engineer positions have more say in the adventure.

This is so cool!

The engineers will be able to communicate with Grogu throughout the mission. The engineer now pretty much has a Grogu cam where you can check in on comms with Grogu, and you get to pick the location that the Falcon goes to. It’s hard to keep your eyes focused on the mission when Grogu is doing so many cute things on the screen beside you.

Hi Grogu!

Which adventure will you and your crew go on? Your journey could lead you to all sorts of places, which include potential experiences on Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor, or the just-announced bustling city-planet, Coruscant.

Talking with Mando!

We’ve got a feeling the ride will boost in popularity for the next few weeks, thanks to the new adventures, as well as the summer season starting up, so if you’re visiting, we recommend packing your patience. Don’t forget about the Single Rider line available for the attraction, which can be a great way to experience the new version of the ride without waiting for an hour or more.

This is amazing!

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World AND Disneyland news, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB!

NEWS: Timeline Revealed for Changes to Opening Day Disney Ride

7 May 2026 at 14:53

Disneyland has already seen so many changes this year, from the Galaxy’s Edge characters to the Avengers Campus expansion. But now, even more changes are coming Disneyland’s way!

Disneyland’s Autopia

Autopia is one of the remaining Disneyland opening attractions and has mostly stayed the same over the years. But Autopia will be totally different soon!

Disney is planning to update Autopia with fully electric vehicles! This will retire the gas engines that have powered the Tomorrowland race track since 1955. According to Disney officials, Disneyland has an agreement with the California Air Resources Board to retire the current Autopia gas-powered engines in early 2027. Imagineers are currently working on the design, engineering, and testing of a fully electric Autopia ride vehicle!

Autopia Car

The Walt Disney Company’s new goal of achieving net-zero emissions has begun to roll out in the theme parks, including reducing the parks’ overall carbon footprint. The Disneyland Resort has made a sustainability commitment to reach net-zero emissions by 2030, and part of this plan includes relying on cleaner, renewable energy sources.

Josh D’Amaro, CEO of The Walt Disney Company ©Disney

Disney hasn’t announced a closure for Autopia yet, so we’ll likely have plenty of time to smell those nostalgic gas fumes the next few months. Disneyland originally announced plans in 2024 to convert Autopia from gas to electric power by fall 2026, but the project was postponed to early 2027. It’s possible that it could even be postponed again!

Check out our ticket!

The 1955 opening day attraction was redesigned in 1959, 1964, and 1968. An extensive remodeling for the Chevron sponsorship closed Autopia from September 1999 through June 2000. The last major Autopia refurbishment took place in 2016 when Honda took over as the ride’s sponsor, and their 10-year contract with Honda ends this year.

Autopia

We’re so excited to see what these changes to Autopia will look like on the track. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disneyland news!

Disney Fans Have THOUGHTS About Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Timeline Changes

2 May 2026 at 15:50

Some BIG changes just happened in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland.

Leia and Han Solo

Disney has decided to scrap the one basic timeline that was originally set up for the planet of Batuu, which placed events in the land between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Now, granted, characters NOT in that timeline have already been appearing in the land, like Ahsoka, the Mandalorian and Grogu, and more. But now original trilogy characters like Darth Vader, Luke, Leia, and Han Solo are appearing in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. So now we have to ask…what do Disney fans think about it?

So is this new timeline weird for Star Wars fans? Does it make the land feel different, odd, or off? Well, according to our reporters, it isn’t weird at all. In fact, it seems like almost everyone who’s experienced the changes is pretty much behind it, and some even commented about the original trilogy music now being played in the land (which is also a first for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge). It feels like new life has been brought back to the area.

Darth Vader in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

It also makes the land a little more accessible for more casual Star Wars fans or those folks who don’t see themselves as fans, but still know these characters. The truth is, when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge first opened, many people complained that the area didn’t include some of the most famous characters in the history of the franchise. So there are a lot of Disney fans who feel like this is how Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge should have been all along.

Leia and Chewbacca

We’ve also looked at some of the comments of DFB readers, who also seem to think this is a good thing for the land. Disney GlennB even said on Facebook, “WDW fans are jealous.” We have seen comments from those who would like to see these changes make their way to Florida.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World

Over on Instagram, @symbolofthes said, “This makes me so happy and want to cry.” Several of Instagram commenters wanted the changes brought over to Disney World, and we’ll be curious to see if that happens or not. This could end up just being one of those things that makes the two lands different on each coast.

These characters are popular!

Okay, so here’s the BIG question I know you ALL want to ask. What do I think? It’s no secret that I’m a huge Star Wars fan, and I hate to admit that my opinion doesn’t align with almost everyone else’s. I like the idea of keeping the timeline intact in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge because it allows for more immersion in a story, whereas now it feels like Batuu is just another land based around something more random. I might have appreciated these changes more if the entire timeline of Batuu itself had been changed, but then both rides in the land would be out of sync with the timeline since they take place during the sequels.

Rise of the Resistance

For me, it doesn’t make sense to have Imperial Troopers and First Order Troopers at the same time, and if I think about it too hard, it makes my head hurt. I’m also worried the new music takes something away from those native Batuu sounds you used to hear when you visited the land. But I’m not sure what Disney could have done here to keep fans happy either way, and I’m sure the changes will grow on me when I next visit Disneyland. Maybe I’m completely wrong. Maybe seeing Luke and Leia there will soften my hardened heart.

We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney and Star Wars news, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

This Part of Disneyland Just Got WAY More Crowded

30 April 2026 at 12:55

Some BIG changes just came to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland…and we’re surprised by just how popular these changes seem to be.

Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

We’re talking about the melding of timelines in Batuu that now sees some characters (and music) from the Star Wars original trilogy hanging out and meeting with visitors. Yep, you can now see Darth Vader, Imperial Stormtroopers, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. But if you’ll be visiting this land soon, we’ve got to warn you about one thing: crowds.

Yes, the new characters are a very popular addition to Disneyland, and due to that, you’re going to run into some crowds there, like we did. Once we got to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, there were a ton of people hanging around the base of the Millennium Falcon, just hoping to get a glimpse of Luke, Leia, and Han.

Waiting

There were parts of Batuu, though, that still felt pretty normal. Most of the crowds were focused on meeting the new characters in the land.

It wasn’t all bad

Most of the other parts of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge felt pretty busy, though. There were a lot of people visiting the land on a not-so-random Wednesday.

Yes, it’s busy

Let’s just say these characters seem to be a HUGE draw for Disneyland right now. Hey, Chewie!

These characters are popular!

Needless to say, you’ll probably be seeing crowds in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for a while, at least until the “newness” of these characters wears off. So you’ll want to plan for that if you want to visit. To see when characters will be out, make sure you have the Disneyland app…you can check the appearance times for each character in the app. Now, it’s my experience that sometimes those times are more like “suggestions” than rules, but if you wait around, you’ll get to see the characters eventually.

We’ll keep an eye out for more Disneyland news, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

GUYS. You Won’t Believe Who We Just Met in Disneyland!

29 April 2026 at 14:55

Disneyland just got a massive upgrade! In case you missed it, the West Coast Galaxy’s Edge is shaking up its timeline to include characters and music from the original trilogy!

It’s Darth Vader!

This comes with a lot of fun changes, but we’re most excited for the characters. We met so many never-before-seen characters from A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and the rest of the Star Wars universe today!

When we walked into the land, we immediately ran into Luke Skywalker and R2D2! They were strolling outside the marketplace, and they were very popular. Expect a wait if you want to talk to them!

Luke and R2D2

Then we headed to the Millennium Falcon. This is where to meet Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewbacca. While we were able to meet Chewie and Leia, Han didn’t make his first appearance until 1:30 PM today.

Leia and Chewbacca!

We went to the back of the land at the former First Order stronghold. This area now takes us back to the Galactic Empire, and we were able to meet the man himself, Darth Vader! He does a similar show to Kylo Ren, where he’ll march out, but the crowd was so much more enthusiastic!

Scary!

We circled back to the Millennium Falcon to find Han and Chewie fixing the ship! At least it looks better than it did yesterday…

Han!

There’s also a brand new soundtrack in the land using John Williams’ brilliant score! Here’s a clip so you can hear it:

DATE ANNOUNCED for Permanent Closure at Downtown Disney

29 April 2026 at 10:02

A long-time Downtown Disney staple is closing after 23 years to make way for a new bubble tea shop.

Jamba at Downtown Disney

The Orange County Register has reported that the Downtown Disney Jamba location will close on July 6th so that Bopo Go! can move in. The addition Bopo Go! to Downtown Disney was revealed over a year ago, but we hadn’t heard anything about the new location since the initial announcement — until now.

Click for your FREE Disneyland Snack Map

Jamba (previously known as Jamba Juice) serves smoothies, bowls, juices, and snacks, and is a quick spot to grab a bite while strolling around Downtown Disney. The location will remain open through July 5th and then close so crews can transform the space into Bopo Go!

Jamba

Bopo Go! will serve high-quality, authentic boba/bubble tea with no artificial ingredients. The concept will use real fruits and vegetables, lactose-free milk, oat milk, cane or brown sugar, tea sourced from farmers in Taiwan, and matcha sourced from Japan. There will also be light bites, imported snacks, and candies. This is a new cafe concept being planned for Downtown Disney!

©Disney

Disneyland recently filed a building permit to remodel the 1,200-square-foot Jamba location in Downtown Disney with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical upgrades for a new tenant.

Bopomofo, the company behind Bopo Go! will begin construction on the new cafe this summer, according to a post on the company’s social media accounts. While we don’t have an official opening date or timeline yet, we’re hopeful this will be a relatively quick turnaround and that the new location will open before the end of the year!

Jamba

We’ll be on the lookout for more changes you need to know about from Downtown Disney and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disneyland news and more!

4 New Rules Disneyland Is Enforcing in 2026

26 April 2026 at 12:00

Disneyland is always evolving, and if you’ve been visiting for years, you already know that what worked on your last trip might not fly anymore.

Disneyland

From updated park policies to new tech, 2026 is bringing a handful of changes that could seriously impact how you plan your day. We’re breaking down some of those changes and what you’ll want to know before you book your next vacation to the Southern California theme park resort.

Facial Recognition Technology Is Expanding

The Disney Parks have fully embraced the digital age — and the Disneyland Resort is no exception. In fact, Disneyland is leaning further into biometric technology in 2026, with expanded use of facial recognition systems at entry points.

New facial recognition sign

These lanes are optional for the time being, and you can find signage posted all over the resort right now that includes some in-depth information on the new tech. Ultimately, Disney is trying to use facial recognition to speed up lines and reduce ticket misuse — but it also means the days of casually sharing tickets or skirting the system are pretty much over.

Disneyland entrance scanners

While Disney has stated this is about efficiency and security, some guests are still getting used to the idea of more advanced tech being part of the park experience. For now, opting in is up to you, but we’ll see how long that remains the case.

Security Rules Are Getting Stricter

If it feels like security is taking a little longer lately, you’re not imagining things. As the world continues to change, so does Disneyland’s enforcement of bag checks and prohibited items in 2026. The resort is consistently updating its policies to prohibit newer items (like vapes) that it doesn’t want inside its parks, shopping districts, and hotels.

Security Lines

The resort is also taking a closer look at oversized bags, loose ice, and certain types of containers. They’re also being more consistent about enforcing stroller size limits and mobility device guidelines. Unlike Disney World, Disneyland still uses old-school metal detectors and bag checkers, and that process doesn’t seem to be changing in 2026. Make sure you check the Disneyland website for a list of approved and banned items before your visit.

No Cell Phones Allowed Out on Certain Rides

If you’re used to filming your entire ride-through, this one’s a big shift. Disneyland is cracking down on having phones and loose items out on select attractions — especially faster rides or those with more intense movements like Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

No Cell Phones

Cast Members have been stopping guests before boarding and reminding them to secure their phones, bottles, glasses, Mickey/Minnie ears, and other loose items completely. This is a total safety issue, and this rule change makes all the sense in the world.

Park Hopping Changes

As of this writing, park hopping between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure can only begin at 11 AM…but that’s about to change.

The Disneyland esplanade — from here, you are feet away from everything Disneyland has to offer!

Later this year, Disneyland will eliminate the 11 AM rule — and you’ll be able to move between the two parks without worrying about the time. We still don’t know when this change will go into effect, but we’ll let you know as soon as it’s announced.

DCA Entrance

If there’s a constant about the Disney Parks, it’s that they never stay the same for too long. We’re always keeping up with all the latest changes, so stay tuned right here at the Disney Food Blog for every update!

ALERT! Showtimes Are CHANGING For A Popular Disney Attraction

20 April 2026 at 10:33

In case you’ve missed it, Bluey has taken over Disneyland! The massively popular children’s TV character and her family have arrived, and they’ve brought some serious excitement with them.

Bluey’s Best Day Ever

If you’re planning on heading into Disneyland Park soon to party with Bluey and Bingo, you should know show times for Bluey’s Best Day Ever! have changed. We don’t want you to be caught unaware and experience a kiddo meltdown, so we’ve got all of the information right here.

Bluey’s Best Day Ever! is the hottest ticket in Fantasyland these days! (Don’t worry, there’s not an extra ticket — you only need your Disneyland Park admission). This is a live show in the Fantasyland Theater (near the entrance to Mickey’s Toontown) that features Bluey, Bingo, live dancers, and more.

Bluey’s Best Day Ever!

The crowds for this show’s opening day were absolutely wild (which we were blown away by). There are two different shows you can experience — one is a story time, and the other is a game show. They traditionally alternate throughout the day. In the first few days of the show’s opening, there wasn’t much room to dance and play because the theater was so packed.

Look at all the people!

The show has continued to be popular, and now, they’re changing up the show times! Starting on April 26th, there will still be 5 show times a day. They will be at 11 AM, 12:20 PM, 1:40 PM, 3:20 PM, and 4:40 PM. We’re super pleased to see that they aren’t cutting a show, especially because it’s so popular.

Bluey’s Best Day Ever

Currently, the show times are 9:30 AM, 10:50 AM, 12:10 PM, 1:50 PM, and 3:10 PM. These show times will be available through April 25th. Disney tends to change show times and availability for different shows, parades, and more throughout the year, so this is a great reminder to always check show times. In addition to Bluey’s Best Day Ever, Disney also released several Bluey-inspired snacks!

“Temu Solo.” Fans Are Simply NOT Having Disney’s New Han Solo Character

18 April 2026 at 16:01

Disneyland is changing its Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land this month by turning back the clock and introducing characters from the original trilogy, notably Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo.

The Star Wars social media accounts have been slowly releasing their never-before-seen Disneyland looks, and when we reposted them, not all fans were satisfied with their new looks.

One of the fans’ first criticisms of Han Solo was his hair. @barberfrankfroese commented on our Instagram, “Why they give him a Prince Charming wig?” @devusername posted “Awesome! But why did you post a video of Flynn Rider to announce it?” James commented, “Flynn Rider cosplaying as Han is a choice.

Most people are unanimously agreeing that this wig is giving That 70’s Show, with one comment mentioning Michael Kelso, and another bringing up Fez. Franklin on Facebook commented, “His hair screams fifth member of the Beatles.” While we love Han’s Farrah Fawcett volume, this wig is… something… compared to the original films.

Disneyland’s Han Solo is wearing his Empire Strikes Back look, but his vest looks much bluer than in the film. Scott on Facebook commented, “Is he working for Walmart in that blue vest?” while Sara replied, “Blue vest?! Looks like a department store employee.”

Lots of commenters mentioned Temu, an ultra-affordable dupe store often used in memes to reference cheap quality. Tom on Facebook called him “Temu Solo, captain of the Monthly Sparrow,” while Rich asked, “Is that the Temu version of this pair?” in reference to Han and Chewie together.

Now that Disneyland has released the full lineup’s outfits, fans are up in arms about the whole cast. When we posted Leia’s new look to our Instagram, @toy_therapy commented, “I’ve seen better cosplayers.” @clocloagogo said that “They told Snow White to put this wig on.” Meanwhile, @tori_rfarmer asked, “Why does this Leia look so cringey?? She’s giving Debby Ryan from Radio Rebel.”

If you’d like to meet the characters yourself at Disneyland, the newly revamped area will open on April 29th. In addition to Han and Leia having meet-and-greets, you can also say hello to Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, and Chewbacca in front of the Millennium Falcon. Ahsoka and The Mandalorian with Grogu can be found in the Black Spire Market in the land.

We’ll be at Disneyland on the opening day to see these new characters in action. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney news!

Disney Reveals First Look at Princess Leia Coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

16 April 2026 at 13:16

Some HUGE changes are coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, and it’s going to change your entire experience in that part of the park.

Millennium Falcon

The timeline for Batuu is shifting to include ALL timelines in the Star Wars universe, including the timeline in the original trilogy of movies. That means you’ll soon be able to see characters like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Darth Vader in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Princess Leia will also be coming to the land, too, and now we have a first look at her!

Disneyland just dropped a first look at Princess Leia as she’ll be appearing in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Now, her outfit might seem unfamiliar, but Disney decided to change things up and give her an outfit based on what she wore in the 2015 comic book series Star Wars Battlefront. And, honestly, we think this outfit is perfect for wandering around dusty Batuu.

You’ll be able to spot Princess Leia near the Millennium Falcon, where she’ll be recruiting Rebels to help with the Rebellion and to keep Luke Skywalker safe. Here’s a full look at Leia in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge:

We previously got a first look at Han Solo, who will also be hanging around the Millennium Falcon. Other characters include Luke Skywalker, who will be roaming Batuu, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader, who will be walking around the outpost with Stormtroopers to hunt down any remaining Jedi.

Chewbacca in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

These changes will be coming to Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on April 29th, so if you’re interested in seeing these characters, mark your calendars! Also, remember that the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride will also be changing on May 22nd with a new mission and new scenes, plus a new role for the Engineer! This change will be coming to both Disneyland and Disney World.

We’ll keep an eye out for these characters once they appear and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

MAJOR Changes Are Coming to Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge in ONE Month

29 March 2026 at 11:11

While we often talk about how much is going on in Disney World, that’s not to say that there aren’t tons of changes and construction going on over at Disneyland Resort as well!

Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge

Downtown Disney is getting multiple new spots, Disney is currently working on the Avengers Campus expansion and Avatar Land coming to Disney California Adventure, but there are also some changes coming sooner than those large new additions. Starting on April 29th, just one month away, one of Disneyland Park’s most popular lands will be changing MAJORLY!

Beginning April 29th, Disney has said that Galaxy’s Edge will usher in a “new point in the Star Wars saga like never before.” The biggest change? The timeline is shifting, which will mean that guests can experience characters and storylines from Star Wars films and TV shows from the past few DECADES, all in one place.

Galaxy’s Edge

Characters and storylines from The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian, and Ahsoka, among many others, will be included in the land, which also means guests will be able to enjoy and experience the Galactic Civil War, the New Republic, the Age of the Resistance, and the First Order in just one day.

Kylo Ren

We already know that Darth Vader is coming to the land full-time, and you’ll see him walking around with Stormtroopers in an attempt to hunt down the remaining Jedi, which means you’ll also get to see Princess Leia Organa (near the Millennium Falcon), Han Solo (also near the Millennium Falcon), Luke Skywalker (roaming the outpost), and Chewbacca throughout the land.

©Disney

Don’t worry, though, because you’ll still be able to see Ahsoka Tano, the Mandalorian, and Grogu over near the Marketplace. R2-D2 will also continue to roll around near the Droid Depot and the garage, while Rey will be able to be found at the Resistance Camp.

Hey R2!

There are also big audio changes coming to the land that we’re looking forward to — starting on April 29th, you’ll also be able to hear John Williams’ iconic Star Wars scores as you travel throughout the land. You may hear “Main Title” and/or “Force Theme” as you enter, and “Han Solo and the Princess,” “The Desert and the Robot Auction,” or perhaps “The Emperor” as you walk around. Of course, you’ll hear “Cantina Band” inside Oga’s Cantina!

©Disney

Additionally, the First Order Cargo shop will transform into Black Spire Surplus, which will be a military salvage operation with artifacts from across the history of the galaxy. This will be where you can find “relics” themed after both the Empire and the Rebel Alliance from the Galactic Civil War.

First Order Cargo Shop

Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities will also get some adjustments, beginning to display a different array of one-of-a-kind items from its past, and an earlier generation of the Mubo family will begin operating the Droid Depot on April 29th as well.

Droid and droid backpack

Currently, these changes are only slated for Disneyland, not Disney World, so it’ll make the two lands VERY different from each other — you’ll be able to have a whole different experience depending on which one you visit! We’ll be in the parks on the day of the changes to bring you all the details, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB.
