Showtimes Are CHANGING for This Popular Disneyland Experience

19 September 2026 at 11:01

Changes are coming to a popular show at the Disneyland Resort!

Bluey’s Best Day Ever!

From mini episodes on Disney+ to a brand-new movie and new experiences at Disney Parks, Bluey has become more and more popular by the day. Over at Disneyland Park, fans can experience Bluey’s Best Day Ever!, an unforgettable experience with Bluey and Bingo. Well, the show is about to get a big schedule change that you’ll want to know about.

We recently went to check out Bluey’s Best Day Ever! over at the Fantasyland Theatre this week, and the show was unexpectedly closed. When we took a look at the Disneyland app, we found out that the show is about to undergo a major showtime change very soon.

It’s closed!

Bluey’s Best Day Ever! adjusted its performance schedule to Fridays through Sundays up until September 27th. The shows are at 11 AM, 12:20 PM, and 1:40 PM.

Bluey and Bingo

Additional performances will be added on Mondays at the same time slots starting on September 28th. Then, on October 1st, Thursday shows will be added to the schedule as well. That will be the final schedule change, which means Bluey’s Best Day Ever! will be Thursday through Monday at 11 AM, 12:20 PM, and 1:40 PM.

Don’t miss it!

The showtime schedule goes until October 31st, as that’s the furthest you can look ahead on the Disneyland calendar. If any more showtime changes occur, we’ll make sure to let you know about them. If you haven’t been to Bluey’s Best Day Ever!, it’s something you need to check out.

All the kids were really into it

There, you can join Bluey and her sister Bingo for a fun-filled celebration with interactive games and a live musical show! Bluey and Bingo appear live on stage, joining a troupe of comedic actors and musicians. It’s an adorable show that brings the popular show to life, filled with iconic music and games inspired by beloved Bluey episodes that fans will recognize.

Disneyland Quietly Announces “it’s a small world” Closure for Holiday Overlay

19 September 2026 at 10:46

If I were in charge of Disney Parks, every single ride would have a holiday overlay. Can you imagine? Peter Pan’s Flight: Holiday Edition. Matterhorn Bobsleds: Rudolph’s Revenge. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Presents. I’m a little biased, but these sound amazing.

“it’s a small world”

Unfortunately, not every ride in Disneyland and Disney World can get an overall holiday season makeover, but a select few do get a bit of love and Christmas lights. One of those is “it’s a small world” in Disneyland (but not Disney World — another change I would make if I were in charge). We just got news on when the ride will close for a refurbishment, and it’s coming up soon.

On the Disneyland calendar, “it’s a small world” closes on October 30th. “it’s a small world” Holiday returns on November 13th, ready to bring some Christmas cheer to the park.

it’s a small world Holiday

In 2025, the holiday version opened on November 13th and ran until January 25th, so we’ll likely have similar dates this year. If this version of the ride is at the top of your list, plan a trip between mid-November and early January so you can catch it. 400,000 lights also illuminate the attraction’s facade, and the clock face features a big Santa hat.

Inside

November 13th also marks the start of the holiday season at Disneyland, when everything becomes a bit more magical. It runs until January 6th, and you’ll be able to enjoy a 60-foot-tall Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A., and over 80,000 shimmering lights on the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Christmas at Disneyland

Mickey, Minnie, and some of their friends will be wearing their new holiday attire, and you can even meet Santa at Mickey’s Toontown Trolley Barn near Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin.

Mickey and Minnie at Disneyland in their Holiday Best (2023)

For special entertainment, be sure to watch Believe…In Holiday Magic fireworks spectacular where you can even check out the snow on Main Street. There’s also the A Christmas Fantasy parade with reindeer, toy soldiers, gingerbread, and more strutting through Disneyland.

“Believe…in Holiday Magic” Fireworks

Haunted Mansion Holiday has already transformed into its holiday version since it’s technically a Halloween and Christmas movie. This ride can get super busy, but it’s one that you don’t want to miss and is a fan favorite.

We’re so glad that the holidays are almost here at Disneyland, so in the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news and tips and tricks that you don’t want to miss to have the best Disney vacation ever.

This Popular Disney Bar Is Under Construction, But It’s Still Open!

16 September 2026 at 09:11

When we’re at Disneyland craving something tropical, we love heading to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar for fruity drinks and Polynesian snacks.

DOLE Whip Cocktail

Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar was closed for refurbishment until May this year, and the building is already being refurbished again!

We went to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar today when we noticed a brown scrim all along the length of the building. We saw construction workers going in and out, so there’s definitely some refurbishments happening!

Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar

Even though the building looks closed, Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is still fully operational! You’ll find a hostess stand at the front of the building, and they’ll lead you to outdoor tables and an outdoor bar serving the same Trader Sam’s drinks you know and love.

The hostess stand!

You can still grab some of Trader Sam’s new 15th anniversary menu items during the exterior refurbishment. Our favorite of the new bunch is the Furikake Fries, which are beer-battered French fries, furikake, green onions, and gochujang aioli for $12. We also enjoyed the BBQ Chicken Flatbread, made with Teriyaki chicken, red onions, mozzarella cheese, micro herbs, Fresno chilies, green onions, pineapple, and Kälua pork) for $24.

Furikake Fries

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on more refurbishments at Disneyland. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disneyland news!

Disneyland Quietly Announces a REOPENING Date for a POPULAR Lounge

15 September 2026 at 08:37

Between Disney World and Disneyland, many closures and construction projects are affecting both coasts. And while we are excited to see what the future holds, we know it can be a bummer when lots of spots are closed on your trip.

Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland

Which is why we are thrilled Disneyland has quietly revealed when one popular lounge will reopen.

Several days ago, the Broken Spell Lounge, at the Disneyland Hotel, closed for refurbishment without a reopening date confirmed. However, after checking on the Disneyland website, we noticed that hours are listed as starting again on October 25th!

Broken Spell Lounge

This space has seen many different themes over the years, but this current iteration is dedicated to Sleeping Beauty. This theme is evident in the dark colors of the lounge, the tree designs on the walls, and the use of green lighting. This really is a cool place to grab a drink or a bite to eat when visiting the Disneyland Hotel, and we are happy that this closure is set to be very brief and guests can enjoy this space once again at the end of next month.

Broken Spell Lounge

However, if you are visiting in the next few weeks, there are still lots of themed locations with great food that you can check out in the meantime. Including the incredibly popular Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, or if you are taking a visit to the Grand Californian, you can go to the Hearthstone Lounge. There is so much incredible dining to be found across all the Disneyland hotels and both parks, so you’ll never be without amazing options!

We will continue to keep you informed of all the closure news across Disneyland and Disney World, so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything!

4 Closures End THIS MONTH At This Popular Disney Hotel

14 September 2026 at 09:59

If you’re visiting Disneyland and happen to be a massive Pixar fan, you may choose to stay at Pixar Place Hotel, which is…as you may have guessed from the name…dedicated to all things Pixar. You can even see the gigantic Pixar lamp and ball in the hotel lobby, as well as meet some rare Pixar characters like Joe from Soul and Bing Bong from Inside Out.

Pixar Place Hotel

Well, four things have been closed for a little while at this hotel, but we’ve got great news: all four closures are ending this month.

On September 8th, the Pixel Pool and the Paradise Spa at Pixar Place Hotel both closed for refurbishment. However, both are scheduled to reopen on September 19th. This is good news if you’ll be on vacation at the hotel and want to use the pool or take a break in the hotel’s spa.

Pixar Place Hotel pool

The Crush Surfin’ Slide and splash pad at Nemo’s Cove also closed on September 8th, but you’ll be able to visit both soon, on September 25th. So if you’re looking for a little extra play time at the hotel, you’ll be able to do that soon, too.

©Disney

At the moment, no other closures have been reported for this hotel, so everything will be open there by the end of the month. So if you’ve been waiting to book a stay there, now’s a good time as any. There’s a lot of fun Pixar-themed things to appreciate about the hotel, including nods to Pixar shorts, a fitness center, fireworks viewing from the rooftop pool deck, and more.

Bing Bong Meet and Greet

We’ll keep an eye out for more Disneyland closures and reopenings, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

You’ve Definitely Taken a Photo Here at Disneyland, and Its Story Is Weirder Than You Think

13 September 2026 at 16:00

When you think of Disney, what comes to mind? The castle? The resorts? Space Mountain? The princesses? The list could go on and on… There are so many icons, but do you really know the story behind them?

©D23

We recently put a poll up on our Instagram stories and asked you if you knew the story behind one of Disneyland’s famous park icons, and 60% of you didn’t! So, let’s dive into the secret behind Snow White Grotto in Disneyland!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the film that really paved the way for the future of Disney films, as it was the first full-length animated feature film — it was a groundbreaking moment for the company. Rightfully so, it deserved a spot in Walt Disney’s debut park — Disneyland Park in California. Snow White Grotto is located on the hillside near Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland, and we’re here to talk about the story of this iconic spot.

©D23

In 1961 — six years after Disneyland opened — Walt Disney received a gift from an anonymous fan sent from Italy with no return address. The gift arrived at the Disney Studios in eight wooden crates, and inside were beautifully detailed statues of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, all carved out of pure-white Carrara marble.

©D23

The only problem with these figures was that Snow White was the same size as the dwarfs! Nonetheless, Walt Disney still wanted to display them somewhere in Disneyland, so he assigned the project to one of his most trusted and respected designers, John Hench. Hench knew there would be a design problem since all of the figures were the same size, but Walt simply told him to “figure it out.”

©D23

Hench went into some brainstorming, and he figured out that if he could stage the statues vertically and arrange them on a slope with Snow White on top, then he could solve the scale problem by using forced perspective, and that’s exactly what he did. The next step? Finding a place to put it. He found a landscaped hillside right next to Sleeping Beauty Castle that would work. He would place Snow White and an undersized deer sculpture at the top of the hill and put the dwarfs more toward the bottom.

©D23

Hench designed a waterfall that began at Snow White’s feet to be small at the top and grow wider as it descended the hill. He explained that the water increased the volume of flow the way down to create that forced-perspective effect. Overall, Walt loved this idea with the exception of one thing: People would be inclined to throw money into the waterfall. The solution? Build a wishing well next to the attraction!

©D23

Proceeds from the wishing well are donated to local children’s charities, like Make-A-Wish and Give Kids The World. The spot remains a popular photo spot, especially great for proposals, family photos, graduation pictures, and more!

The Snow White Grotto has been replicated at Tokyo Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland, so if you want to see it somewhere other than Disneyland Park, you can also visit one of the international parks. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney park deep dives!

The Disneyland Food Rule First-Timers Always Get Wrong

12 September 2026 at 16:00

If you run into this dining problem at Disneyland, don’t worry — you’re not alone.

Tangaroa Terrace

Disneyland dining should be straightforward — in theory. Yet, during a recent visit, we encountered a problem that’ll surely blindside non-Disney experts and tourists alike. Let’s talk about it.

During our visit, we were on the hunt for a rare DOLE Whip dessert that had gone viral when Disney posted it online. Simple enough, right?

DOLE Whip Cup

However, when we were verifying our order, we noticed that the treat wasn’t advertised in person, nor was it shown on the Disneyland app via mobile order.

©Disney

Later that day, we went to review a seasonal dessert at Naples Ristorante and noticed that it wasn’t on the official online menu, nor the menu in person. Fortunately, there was a little table advertisement that did highlight it, but it’s still worth noting in case you didn’t know about the treat beforehand.

Pumpkin Blood-Scotch Cannoli

This highlighted an obvious dining pitfall: Not all Disneyland offerings will be obvious to the average guest.

Sleeping Beauty Castle

This problem usually plagues seasonal items — which wouldn’t be as much of an issue if Disneyland really didn’t embrace seasonal items. But it does, and so if you don’t know where to look, you could EASILY miss out on some pretty incredible exclusive treats.

Ultimately, Disneyland has lots of secrets that you need to know before your trip in order to unlock the full potential of your stay.

Disneyland Railroad Station

Keeping up with the trends is a tough task. It requires knowing where to look and who to talk to. Luckily for you, we’re pros at that, and we’ve taken it upon ourselves to know every little bit of what’s going on at Disneyland — from the latest ride construction updates to where you can find rare drinks. When we say we keep up with everything, we mean everything.

This NEW Disney Snack Is A Candy Lover’s DREAM

11 September 2026 at 14:32

If you have a sweet tooth and you’ll be at Downtown Disney soon, then you need to have Disney’s newest candy on your radar!

So many options!

You can fill up a bag or mini trash can at Downtown Disney’s brand-new bulk candy station!

A bag of the brand-new bulk candy alone is $14.99, and you can bundle it with a souvenir container. The Main Street, U.S.A. Novelty Candy Container is $14.99 with any bulk candy purchase, so this souvenir will be $29.98 before tax. You can find both the bulk candy and the souvenir trash can in at the Wonderful World of Sweets in Downtown Disney.

Trash cans!!!

You can choose from so many different types of brand-new bulk candies to fill your bag or trash can up with, including Butterfly Gummies from The Netherlands, Raspberry Gummies from The Netherlands, Raspberry Jellies from The Netherlands, Fruit-flavored Gummies from Italy, and Banana and Strawberry-flavored Gummies from The Netherlands. The candies we tried were so yummy and packed with fruit flavor!

So many options!

These Main Street, U.S.A. Novelty Candy Containers are miniature replicas of the iconic Main Street, U.S.A. trash cans you’ll find at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom! With swinging side lids and a flip-top opening, they’ve got all the charm of their full-sized cousins, just shrunk down and filled with sugar (how amazing is that?!).

The display

These are identical to the versions sold in Disney World, which you can find at Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom. We got ours there last year, and it’s quickly become one of our favorite Disney souvenirs!

We filled our trash can with M&Ms!

We’ll be sure to update you on more fun Disneyland snacks. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney food news!

This Disneyland Lounge is Now CLOSED For The Foreseeable Future

11 September 2026 at 10:40

Another closure has hit Disneyland Resort, but it may not be one you were expecting.

Broken Spell Lounge

Inside the Disneyland Hotel, you’ll find a spot that has seen many different versions of lounges over the years. Currently, you’ll find the Broken Spell Lounge here, which opened back in late 2025. However, if you were hoping to stop by on your upcoming trip, that just got much harder.

The Disneyland website currently lists the Broken Spell Lounge as closed for refurbishment. Operating hours are currently posted again on the Disneyland website for dates starting October 25th, 2026.

©Disney

Broken Spell Lounge is inspired by the Disney animated film Sleeping Beauty, and that’s shown throughout the theming of the space. When open, you can grab small bites like the dry-rub chicken wings, classic Caesar salad, savory steak frites, and molten chocolate cake, as well as glasses of wine and special cocktails like the Old Fashioned or Black Thorn Bramble.

Benevolent Faerie at Broken Spell Lounge

If you’ll be near the Disneyland Hotel and are looking for other spots to check out, we recommend Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar for an incredibly immersive experience, the Palm Breeze Bar, as well as Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill. Not to mention, you can also order room service if you find you don’t want to leave the room.

REVIEW: Disneyland Added a New $6 Side, and I Will Be Ordering 100 – Try To Stop Me

8 September 2026 at 08:30

Disneyland, you did not hold back with these snacks!

Let’s eat!

We’re always looking for new snacks at Disney World and Disneyland, and while we have our returning favorites, we could probably live off of the new snacks they drop every week. This time, we’re heading to two different restaurants to try some dishes that we don’t think we’ll ever be able to live without.

First up, we’re heading to Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, located in Frontierland. We started with the Mexican-style Shrimp Cocktail for $12.99, with poached shrimp, tomatoes, red onions, cilantro, cucumber, celery, and spicy cocktail sauce served with crackers.

Shrimp Cocktail

While we thought this was a solid shrimp cocktail, it wasn’t necessarily our favorite dish of all time. The tomato sauce has some sweetness, and a lot of tartness still shines through. There’s a good amount of spice and a bit of a kick at the end. The shrimp are perfectly cooked, and the flavors work well together; you also get about ten shrimp, so it’s easy to share. We wish we got a little more for the price, and we had a lot of tomato sauce left by the end, so we needed a bit more shrimp!

We also had the Nachos for $14.99, made with tortilla chips, beans, guajillo cheese sauce, house-made tomatillo salsas, red jalapeños, sour cream, and guacamole.

Nachos

This isn’t the first time this restaurant has had nachos, and in the past, they were some of our favorite foods in the park! You’ll want to eat these as soon as they come out because the toppings can make the nachos very cheesy. They have a bit of a spicy kick from two different salsas, plus flavorful cheese, and while the flavors all go together, we wish we could add a protein on top, like beef or pork. When we asked, it wasn’t an available option, and it wasn’t as fresh as we were hoping. It felt particularly one-note and a bit underwhelming. When you need nachos, this might do the trick, but you’ll likely find better meals throughout the park.

Lots of toppings

To drink, we grabbed the Horchata Slushy for $8.49.

Horchata Slushy

This was the highlight of our meal! It tastes just like authentic horchata and was super refreshing and delicious. We loved that it wasn’t that expensive of an add-on and really brought the whole meal together.

We had one more stop for the day before we called it quits. We went to Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland to grab the Garlic Naan, which is grilled bread basted with herb butter, for $5.79.

Garlic Naan

The bread was fluffy, buttery, and super garlicky! We loved the flame-broiled, toasted flavor of the bread, and once you add a skewer like the Bengal Beef Skewer, it’s a total game changer. It’s filling and a great addition to Bengal Barbecue, and we’ll be adding it every time we order from here.

With the beef

In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of our favorite snacks and dishes you’ll want to try on your next Disneyland vacation.

REVIEW: Disney Just Brought A Menu Item Back From The Dead

7 September 2026 at 16:07

There are tons of spots that are considered famous Disney stops. That being said, some are truly iconic, while others are just viral for the moment.

Let’s test it together!

Trader Sam’s in Disneyland! Now, THAT spot is genuinely iconic. This popular bar, located at the Disneyland Hotel, offers up seriously fun tiki cocktails, delicious food, and more. For a limited time, you can check out their Halloween menu, and here’s what we think about one of the newest items.

Welcome to Trader Sam’s! The themed bar is an excellent spot to relax and take a load off when you’re not in the parks, thanks to the fun atmosphere and delicious menu. This year, the spirits have spoken for Trader Sam’s 15th anniversary, and they’ve brought three drinks back from the dead!

The Halloween Menu!

When we stopped by, we grabbed the Cloaked Specter (RIP 2013) for $20! This drink is made with Planteray O.F.T.D., Planteray Original Dark Rum, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, Falernum, Cinnamon, and Angostura Bitters.

How pretty is this?

We are SO excited that the spirits spoke this drink onto the menu, but be cautious. This drink was dangerous in the best way possible. The pineapple juice hit us immediately upon sipping it with that familiar fruity and slightly acidic flavor. The rum notes came after the fact. The rum was sweet and warm in flavor, making the drink feel more well-rounded.

The flower on top!

The drink was (unsurprisingly) perfectly tropical and made us feel like we were ready to relax on the beach. As we enjoyed it, it was super refreshing and was great to enjoy over the course of a meal. We would happily grab this one again and again! This drink is only around for a limited time, so don’t hesitate if you want to try it yourself.

The front of the menu!

We love that Disney is using this spooky season to resurrect some old favorites, and we can’t wait to grab the others before they’re gone. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney reviews, news, and updates.

A Popular Disney Ride Is About to CLOSE With No Reopening Date in Sight

7 September 2026 at 09:00

A lot of Disney fans aren’t gonna be happy about this…

Indiana Jones Adventure

The Disneyland Resort is no stranger to construction and refurbishment projects. Over at Disneyland Park, the rides are generally well-maintained, but they sometimes need lengthy refurbishments to ensure everything runs properly. Those refurbishment projects sometimes include some of the park’s most popular attractions — one of which might be closed well into the fall.

Per the Disneyland closure calendar, the Indiana Jones Adventure thrill ride will close on September 8th, 2026, for refurbishment — and no reopening date has been announced as of this writing.

Indiana Jones Adventure

Indiana Jones Adventure is no stranger to closures. This ride is among the pantheon of best Disney Parks attractions thanks in part to its innovative ride system, exciting audio-animatronics, and immersive special effects. However, because the ride is technically complicated, it does often run into issues.

©Disney

Daily stalls are common, and Disney must work extra hard to ensure the ride is at least operating in B-mode. The attraction itself features pyrotechnics, literal moving rooms, and a rolling boulder that is on a path to crushing jeeps. It’s really amazing when it works — but routine refurbishments are required to ensure that happens.

Indiana Jones Adventure ride vehicles

Currently, the Disneyland schedule shows the ride closed through October 15th — which is as far out as the calendar goes when this was written.

Essentially, that means the ride’s reopening date isn’t ready to be revealed. It could be closed throughout October, or open on short notice at any moment. This is not uncommon for Disneyland’s bigger refurbishment projects, but they usually give a few days’ notice, so we can let you know that specific reopening date as soon as it’s announced.

REVIEW: This Disney Dessert Is Covered in Blood and Comes With a Knife …And We Love It

6 September 2026 at 11:23

Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort has so many places to eat that it’s easy to pass by some hidden gems, but that’s what we’re here for!

Naples Ristorante E Bar

We recently stopped by Naples Ristorante E Bar at the Downtown Disney District because we heard of a new treat for spooky season. Is this something worth going out of your way for this fall? Well, there’s only one way to find out!

If you head to Naples Ristorante E Bar, you can grab the Pumpkin Blood-Scotch Cannoli for $12. The cannoli is filled with pumpkin and butterscotch chip cream, topped with whipped cream, red caramel drizzle, and a sugar knife.

Pumpkin Blood-Scotch Cannoli

This treat is very pumpkin-forward and very crispy. It should be eaten with your hands, but the drizzle prevents that. The dough is butterscotch-infused and has a coffee-like flavor about it. The cream is light and fluffy, and we feel like the butterscotch and pumpkin each take turns being the star.

Pumpkin Blood-Scotch Cannoli

The chips add a surprising crunch on the inside. The whipped cream is light with hints of those “fall” tones, but the drizzle is not nearly as subtle. It’s a red caramel, and it’s sweet. It can be overpowering at times, and we think pulling back just a tad might’ve made this even better.

Pumpkin Blood-Scotch Cannoli

The sugar knife is just sugar-tasting and the definition of inoffensive. It’s sweet yet bland, but it’ll get covered in everything else anyway

Look at the sugar knife!

We don’t think kids will like this, but fans of fall flavors like butterscotch and pumpkin should be appeased by this. We think it’s reliably solid, and the fact that you get two makes this a fair value. It is really messy to eat, so we would be aware of that.

This was good!

We’re always on the hunt for eats and treats around Disneyland Resort, so if you’re looking for more reviews, make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog!

It’s Official: This Massive Disney Park Expansion Is Opening LATER Than We Thought

5 September 2026 at 11:00

One thing remains constant: Disney likes to take its sweet time with its theme park projects.

©Disney

We’ve been visiting the Disneyland Resort each week and tracking the progress of the expansion happening over at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure! This project will double the size of the land and will introduce two NEW rides — and construction has been well underway all year. While progress has been apparent, it seems there’s still A TON of work to be done.

Expansion plans were initially announced at 2024’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and the land was once again talked about two years later at this year’s D23 expo in Anaheim.

Avengers Campus ©Disney

During the Disney Experiences Showcase, it was revealed that the expansion will be completed in 2028 — FOUR YEARS after its initial reveal. That has us scratching our heads a little…

Avengers Campus

The land itself opened in 2021, and construction on the expansion project really began in early 2025. Over a year later, the work being done has been obvious, and it’s already looking fairly far along.

That got us thinking that — ideally — the land might be ready by late 2027. HOWEVER, the reveal of a 2028 opening date (only the year was announced, and not an official date or seasonal timeline) tells us that we were being overly optimistic. While it seems that progress is moving at a good pace, it’s not nearly close to being done.

Construction

So far, we know the land will have two new attractions — the bigger being Avengers Infinity Defense. This new ride will take you on an adventure through the multiverse as you join the Avengers to take on King Thanos (a version of Thanos that won). According to Disney, “Technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere. Recruits will travel to iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City alongside the likes of big and small heroes… You also just might find yourself face-to-face with King Thanos, too.”

Avengers Infinity Defense ©Disney

Disney teased the use of both massive practical set pieces and screen-based mechanics, as well as the ride vehicles — giving us the idea that this ride will function similarly to the Transformers and Spider-Man rides at the Universal theme parks.

We can’t wait

We also know the ride will feature several known Avengers and their movie actors — including Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.

©Disney

This is supposed to be the big e-ticket attraction the land has promised since it opened back in 2021. So far, that title is still held by Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT.

Avengers Infinity Defense

Adjacent to the ride will be Stark Flight Lab. This ride will take you on a simulated flight journey so you can feel what it’s like to be Iron Man.

Stark Flight Lab

You’ll be seated in a two-person “gyro-kinetic pod” that will roll along a track and then connect to a robot arm that will sling you around.

Again, this will feature Downey Jr. as Iron Man — as well as other cameos, like Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Anthony Mackie as the Falcon!

©Disney

This will be a ride that isn’t so friendly for folks prone to motion sickness, so you’ll want to keep that in mind.

©Disney

We’re disappointed that the wait for these new rides is longer than expected, but you can trust us to bring you all the latest developments over the coming years! Follow us at the Disney Food Blog for more!

Disney Just Released 2 NEW Souvenirs in the Parks (and You’re Gonna Love Them)

4 September 2026 at 16:17

When it comes to Disney souvenirs, food and beverage-related novelties like popcorn buckets, sippers, and the like have become some of the most in-demand keepsakes at the company’s resorts.

Coco sipper!

In early September, not one but two new novelty items dropped at the Disneyland Resort, just in time for the start of fall celebration season!

Let’s begin with the Coco Lantern Sipper!

Such a pretty sipper

The new sipper is designed to resemble a multi-colored lantern featuring Miguel, Mama Coco, Héctor Rivera, and Dante the dog, each of which spins, and the center carousel lights up in three glow patterns: slow pulse, quick pulse, and constant glow. The color explosion continues with a yellow straw and a vibrant lanyard. This $30.99 sipper includes a Coca-Cola bottled beverage at the time of purchase.

Coco sipper!

This sipper is limited to two per person, per transaction, and no discounts can be applied. It can be found at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante & Ship to Shore Marketplace at Disneyland Park, and at Paradise Garden Grill at Disney California Adventure Park.

Tomorrowland Is About to Change FOREVER. Here Are the Disney Rides We May LOSE

3 September 2026 at 10:00

The 2026 D23 Ultimate Fan Event was chock-full of major Disney theme park announcements, ranging from details on major projects and prospective opening timelines to shock teaser announcements that fans have waited years for. One of those teasers was for the long-awaited redo of Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, which has long been afflicted by the “Tomorrowland Problem” of a futuristic land quickly becoming outdated.

View from Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge

However, while that announcement was predictably well received, there was little detail on what the new Tomorrowland will specifically entail, and how much is changing. That’s gotten us wondering just how many of Tomorrowland’s older rides, attractions, and structures are going to survive into Disney’s latest take on the future.

Space Mountain

Let’s begin with the biggest ride on our list, both in size and legacy: Space Mountain. While it may seem unimaginable, there has been a stream of rumors that Space Mountain may be replaced. Some point to a version of TRON: Lightcycle/Run coming to the West Coast…

TRON Lightcycle / Run

while others think that the mountain could be rebuilt like the upcoming Space Mountain: Earthrise that’s coming to Tokyo Disneyland (and maybe Magic Kingdom one day as well, but that’s for a separate rumor deep dive).

However, we’re not sure how much stock to put in the idea of Space Mountain being fully replaced, unless the Tomorrowland project is a full teardown of the land. That said, it wouldn’t be surprising if a TLC refurbishment project was in the cards.

Disneyland Space Mountain

Star Tours

Speaking of groundbreaking attractions, let’s move over to Star Tours: The Adventure Continues. While a simulator experience set in a galaxy far, far away has been a Tomorrowland staple for 40 years, the reality is that having a Star Wars-themed ride in the land seems a bit redundant with Galaxy’s Edge on the other side of the park. Plus, the version of Star Tours currently operating is the early 2010s Adventure Continues version, which doesn’t elicit the same nostalgia.

Star Tours

It’s hard to say that removing Star Tours is “likely,” but it may be tempting for Disney given the large plot of land that the ride’s show building (which was once home to Adventure Thru Inner Space) takes up.

Adventure Thru Inner Space ©D23

Autopia

Perhaps no existing Tomorrowland attraction was thrown into flux by the D23 announcement more than Autopia. The ride is scheduled to replace its fleet of gas-powered vehicles by February 1st of next year. Is that still happening? Has it been canceled and the ride condemned to closure, or will the electric Autopia be the first element of the New Tomorrowland?

Autopia

Tomorrowland Theater

Over the years, the space currently known as the Tomorrowland Theater has gone by several names — including the Magic Eye Theater — and incarnations while serving as the home of Magic Journeys, Captain EO, and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. These days, the theater is only sporadically used for showings of things like the Pixar Short Film Festival, making it, perhaps, a prime candidate to be demolished for some of the “open spaces” Disney promised for the new Tomorrowland.

Tomorrowland Theater

Tomorrowland Expo Center

Similar to the theater, the space currently known as the Tomorrowland Expo Center was once a hub of the land. The once-rotating building has hosted the Carousel of Progress, America Sings, Innoventions, and Star Wars: Launch Bay over the years. However, its current barely used state likely makes it a target for removal during a refurbishment.

Disneyland Star Wars Launch Bay

It remains to be seen how many, if any, of these rides, attractions, and structures are lost during the upcoming Disneyland Tomorrowland refurbishment. Stay tuned to DFB as more information is released on the project.
