We’re here at the very first Oogie Boogie Bash of the Halloween season at Disney California Adventure, and you can bet we’re making it our mission to do everything!

This might be the best day of our lives

One of our favorite parts of this seasonal event is that we get to meet so many rare Disney characters. Though there’s a big difference between the meet-and-greets at this event and those at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom — there are TONS of villains to meet at Oogie Boogie Bash, and now, a new one has arrived!

When you travel on the different treat trails around the park to collect your candy, you’ll often see at least one of your favorite villains along the way. This year, there’s a new villain at Grizzly Peak you won’t want to miss. That’s right — Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove has arrived!

What a treat to see such a rare character! After showing off her potions, she lamented about pulling the wrong lever. IYKYK!

Don’t want to drink that!

Yzma shares a treat trail with Maleficent this year, but you can also see Agatha Harkness, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, Hades, Judge Doom, Syndrome, Ernesto de la Cruz, and Oogie Boogie.

Now, if you want to see tons of villain decor in one place, or just really get into the spooky vibe, we recommend heading over to Villains Grove, located at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Here, you’ll be able to experience:

• Frollo’s Sanctuary
• Maleficent’s Will
• Queen of Hearts Garden
• Scar’s Elephant Graveyard
• Dr. Facilier’s Friends on the Other Side
• The Wicked Queen’s Lightning Forest
• Home of the Wisps
• Dawn

Villains Grove

Meeting the different villains is part of what makes Oogie Boogie Bash so unique, so we definitely recommend adding it to the top of your list. This year, Oogie Boogie Bash takes place on select nights from August 18th through October 31st, and prices range from $139 to $199.

It’s almost time for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, but before we get too excited, we have to celebrate D23 Day!

It’s D23 Day!

D23 Day is TODAY, and it’s brought so many exciting new offerings to Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney. Here’s why you need to RUN to Disney for this one-day-only celebration!

When we scanned into Disneyland this morning, we were greeted by Disney Cast Members who were giving out this snazzy D23 guidebook with all of the fun activities just for today.

We have our map at the ready!

And we also got a completely free pair of Mouse Ears, made just for D23 Day! These little guys are a black Mickey Ear hat with teal ears and trim, plus an embroidered D23 Day at Disneyland Resort patch featuring Sleeping Beauty Castle under a bright sun with dozens of fireworks.

So cute, and 100% free!

The D23 Day sign is up again, and this makes for a colorful backdrop to commemorate your D23 Day!

We also got to see the brand-new Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Mouse balloon coming to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! This is the first new balloon announced for the 2026 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this November, and there’s likely more to come with an announcement at D23 this weekend!

Disney is also giving out these super cute Disney x Macy’s 100th Parade buttons featuring the Sorcerer Mickey balloon to celebrate the big reveal! Super cute, and again, 100% free if you go to Disneyland for D23 Day!

You can catch the Disney Legends Cavalcade at 1:30, which features 23 iconic Disney characters as they make their way down Main Street, U.S.A., along with the Disneyland Band and select Disney Legends, celebrities recognized for the unique and impactful legacies they have created at Disney.

If you’re heading to Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure this year, we hope you’ve gotten your tickets, because they’re going fast!

We love getting to try all the special treats available during the party, as well as meet some of our favorite characters, see the exclusive entertainment, and, of course, go trick-or-treating. If you’re planning to see Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake, but don’t want to stand in place for an hour to get the best spot, the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party is perfect for you, and reservations are coming soon!

Oogie Boogie Bash begins on select nights starting on August 18th, and the Dessert Party is a great way to make sure you get fantastic views of Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake, taking the place of the usual parade this year, without having to wait for an hour on Main Street to reserve the best spot.

The dessert party starts at $94, and yes, that doesn’t include the cost of your ticket to get into the party, so it’ll be an additional cost. You’ll get preferred viewing for the streetmosphere itself, which could be extra valuable this year, since it’s the first time this particular offering has been available. Your dessert party package will include:

• A signature Oogie Boogie-themed box of artisan charcuterie and cheeses with assorted accoutrements, Halloween-themed desserts, and freeze-dried fruits
• Exclusive collectible enamel pin
• Reserved seating for Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party in the preferred viewing area in front of Sonoma Terrace
• An alcoholic beverage (for Guests ages 21 and older)
• Unlimited soft drinks and bottled water, plus coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a nonalcoholic specialty beverage

When it comes to what menu items you can look forward to, Disney has listed Artisan charcuterie and cheeses with assorted accoutrements, triple chocolate cheesecake, candy-coated chocolate crisped rice treats, Dubai chocolate-inspired filled bundt cakes with pistachio crunch, and sugar cookies. As for beverages, no details have been revealed yet on what the Oogie Boogie Bash nonalcoholic specialty beverage is, but for guests 21 and older, beer, wine, and an Oogie Boogie Bash specialty cocktail will be available.

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is coming soon. The expo will begin on August 14th at the Honda Center, but before that, we have to kick off D23 with D23 Day at the Disneyland Resort on August 13th!

D23 Day will bring so many exciting new offerings to Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney. Here’s every reason why you need to visit Disney on Thursday, August 13th!

To celebrate D23 Day, you can snag a free pair of Mickey Mouse ears! These ear hats are available exclusively on D23 Day, first-come, first-served, while supplies last.

The Disney Legends Cavalcade features 23 iconic characters as they make their way down Main Street, U.S.A., with the Disneyland Band and select Disney Legends, recognized for the unique and impactful legacies they have created at Disney. It will happen at Disneyland at 1:30 PM!

For other entertainment offerings, Disney announced that some rare characters will make an appearance on D23 Day. Keep your eyes peeled for Merlin from The Sword and the Stone and Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, whom you may encounter while wandering through Fantasyland in Disneyland.

Tomorrowland Terrace in Disneyland will feature music from day to night! From 2 PM to 6 PM, young kids and families can boogie down with Stitch and some of his friends at Stitch’s Interplanetary Beach Party Bash. In the evening, keep those dance moves grooving during the Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Dance Party from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

The brand-new Hatbox Ghost Popcorn Bucket is a limited-edition popcorn bucket modeled after the iconic Hatbox Ghost in both Disneyland and Disney World. It’s available for purchase while supplies last beginning on August 13th, so run to Disneyland or Disney California Adventure to get your hands on one!

While you’re getting your Hatbox Ghost Popcorn Bucket, you can also grab some D23 Weekend-exclusive treats, like this adorable Sorcerer Apprentice Mickey Cake Pop. It’s available for a limited time at Candy Palace in Disneyland, Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure, and Disney Wonderful World of Sweets in Downtown Disney, while supplies last.

And to commemorate your D23 Day, there will be some exclusive PhotoPass locations across the Disneyland Resort. Pose in front of one of multiple D23 Day icon photo locations, located at Town Square at Disneyland, Pixar Pier in California Adventure, and in Downtown Disney. As part of the festivities, all park guests with valid park admission and theme park reservations on August 13th, 2026, will receive complimentary unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken that day!

Disneyland has a brand-new version of Soarin‘ – and we just got to ride it early!

Soarin’ Across America celebrates the 250th birthday of the U.S. by soaring riders across both coasts of the U.S., highlighting some of the country’s iconic landscapes and cityscapes. Think sweeping natural beauty, recognizable skylines, and a heavy dose of Americana!

We rode Soarin’ Across America at Disney California Adventure, and we’re bringing you all of our thoughts! Soarin’ Across America celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the U.S.! This brand-new version of Soarin’ takes riders across both coasts of the U.S., highlighting some of the country’s iconic landscapes and cityscapes. There’s a new sign out front to celebrate the updated ride as well.

Inside the queue, you’ll find patriotic bunting celebrating the Fourth of July and America’s 250th birthday.

The pre-show is primarily the same, with some new jokes thrown in by the now Captain Patrick Warburton before the original spiel plays.

The newest film in the Toy Story franchise, Toy Story 5, released in theaters on June 19th, and Disney is celebrating in big ways!

The film is a big reason you can celebrate Cool KIDS’ SUMMER in Disney World with the Jessie’s Roundup in Magic Kingdom, as well as check out a special Toy Story 5 photo op in Disney California Adventure, but there’s way more where that came from. If you’re heading to Disneyland Resort soon and staying on property, there’s a new perk coming to the hotel pools you won’t want to miss!

To celebrate the release of the new film, you’ll soon be able to experience Disney Poolside Splash Bash at all the Disneyland hotels! The offering will begin on July 2nd and take place on Thursdays and Sundays, and will feature Disney trivia, music through the decades, and characters showing off some of their dance moves. Yes, that means you’ll get to meet Jessie, Bo Peep, and Woody poolside at Pixar Place Hotel, Disneyland Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

While you’re around the area, there’s also a special installation highlighting Toy Story 5 located on the second-floor atrium of the Pixar Place Hotel that fans of the franchise will love.
