A Word of WARNING If You’re Heading to Disneyland in July

2 June 2026 at 13:24

Disneyland Resort has seen quite a few closures lately, with rides, restaurants, and more undergoing refurbishments.

Sleeping Beauty Castle

While some rides have recently reopened, Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, Silly Symphony Swings, and even the Disneyland Monorail are all still closed for refurbishment. Unfortunately, it looks like the list of Disneyland closures is getting even longer, as we spotted two more calendar updates that might impact your next trip.

If you’ve got an upcoming Disneyland trip planned, make sure you pay attention to these new closures! The Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition — where you can take aim and fire at nearly 100 targets during an old-time Wild West shootout — will be closing on July 6th with no current reopening date listed on the Disneyland website.

Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition

Not only that, but it looks like the Tinker Bell meet and greet at Pixie Hollow may also be closing for refurbishment. Though nothing is listed on the refurbishment calendar at this time, it shows no times available from July 5th to as far as the calendar goes

This could just mean that the calendar has not yet been updated with meet-and-greet times after July 5th, but it might also mean that this meet-and-greet location will be closing for refurbishment. Either way, we’ll be sure to keep an eye on things and let you know of any changes.

Tinker Bell

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters closed on April 13th with no set reopening date. On the Disneyland ride, you’ll take aim and fire your laser to defeat Zurg during a thrilling space battle!

Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters

In addition, the Silly Symphony Swings closed on April 27th with no confirmed reopening date. The Paradise Gardens Park ride takes you into the air to see Disney California Adventure from above!

NEWS: Disneyland Issues Statement Regarding Nearby Hazmat Situation

25 May 2026 at 08:33

On Thursday, May 21st, a hazmat incident and potential chemical leak began in Garden Grove, California, located just five miles from Knott’s Berry Farm and Disneyland.

Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure

Neither park is in the identified evacuation zone, and both are currently still open. Disneyland has now released an official statement regarding the incident. Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth right now.

UPDATE: As of 9 AM PDT on Monday, May 25th, Garden Grove officials have confirmed that the GKN Aerospace chemical tank is no longer a threat of catastrophic explosion. Crews said that a crack has formed in the tank, which is reducing pressure, the Orange County Register has reported. The temperature inside the tank has also decreased from at least 100 degrees to 93 degrees. The evacuation of thousands of residents in Garden Grove and nearby communities remains intact.

A hazmat incident at GKN Aerospace on Western Avenue in Garden Grove occurred on Thursday, May 21st, and has since worsened over the weekend. The crisis involves a malfunctioning chemical tank that threatens to explode and release a toxic cloud, which would affect hundreds of thousands of people in the area and for miles around, including Disneyland.

Sleeping Beauty Castle

As of now, Disneyland is not in the identified evacuation zone, but many are wondering whether it’s safe to visit the parks. Disney officials have now put out a statement advising that, at this time, ” there is no impact to Disneyland Resort due to this situation and the resort remains open to guests.”

Disney said that they are actively monitoring the situation and taking guidance from local authorities.

Disneyland

The statement goes on to say, “The Disneyland Resort is approximately five miles from the incident and is not in the identified evacuation zone. Updates can be found by following Orange County Fire Authority on social media.”

Disney is advising people to check the local guidelines before travel. Road closures, detours, or traffic disruptions in the surrounding area may impact how people get to and from the resort.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland

So, while Disneyland isn’t in the evacuation zone and the parks remain open, travel to and from Disneyland could be impacted due to the chemical incident.

Disneyland

Currently, the situation has forced 40,000 people to evacuate in an impact zone, which includes parts of Garden Grove, Anaheim, Cypress, Stanton, and Westminster. When speaking about the situation, a Knott’s Berry Farm employee spokesperson said, “The safety and well-being of our guests and team members is a cornerstone of our business. We are working closely with our partners at the Orange County Fire Authority to actively monitor the situation. At this time, the park has not been impacted.”

Disney California Adventure

As of the evening of Saturday, May 23rd, the Disneyland union instructed Cast Members who feel unsafe and are affected by the chemical leak to stay home. We also know that while Disneyland itself isn’t in the potential blast zone, many Disneyland guests stay in the Garden Grove area, and others travel through it on their way to the park. The governor has also declared a State of Emergency.

During the afternoon on Sunday, May 24th, Orange County Fire Authority Interim Chief TJ McGovern said firefighters did “a recon mission on the tank” late Saturday night, during which they discovered a crack, which could be relieving some of the pressure, ABC7 has reported.

This is an ongoing situation, and we will update you as we learn more. Stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest updates.

This NEW Disney Visa Perk Is a Total Game-Changer

29 April 2026 at 13:19

Disney Visa Cardmembers have access to some seriously fun perks at Disney Parks, from exclusive discounts on dining and merchandise to special character experiences you can’t get anywhere else.

Disneyland Star Wars Launch Bay

One of the most beloved benefits is the ability to access cardmember-only character meet and greet opportunities, and one popular Disneyland perk has officially gotten a MAJOR change!

Previously, Disney Visa Cardmembers visiting Disneyland have been able to meet Darth Vader at a special, reserved photo location inside Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland. This experience has been a huge draw for Star Wars fans, offering shorter waits, a more relaxed environment, and complimentary digital downloads of professional photos just for flashing your Disney Visa Card.

Beginning April 29, 2026, visitors to Batuu may find Darth Vader, Imperial Stormtroopers, and other iconic Star Wars characters inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., as the land expands its timeline to include more Star Wars eras. Read more about the exciting updates coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland at DisneyParksBlog.com. (Christian Thompson/Disneyland Resort)

But as of April 29th, Kylo Ren has officially taken over the exclusive Disney Visa Cardmember meet-and-greet at Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland! That means Darth Vader has moved to Galaxy’s Edge, making room for his grandson to make an appearance. For fans of Kylo Ren, or those who missed seeing him up close, this is a brand-new reason to take advantage of this cardmember perk!

Kylo Ren at Disneyland

Cardmembers can stop by for a photo opportunity at a location reserved just for them, inside Star Wars Launch Bay. Best of all, you’ll receive complimentary downloads of your photos, making it an easy and memorable souvenir. Guests must present a valid Disney Visa Card for entry, and availability can vary. On most days, this experience is typically offered from 2 PM until 6 PM, though hours are always subject to change, so it’s a good idea to check once you’re in the park.

Star Wars Launch Bay

This change is part of a major timeline shift happening at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. Characters and storylines from The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian, and Ahsoka, among many others, are now included in the land, which also means you can enjoy and experience the Galactic Civil War, the New Republic, the Age of the Resistance, and the First Order all in one day.

Darth Vader is now roaming around the land full-time, and you’ll see him walking around with Stormtroopers in an attempt to hunt down the remaining Jedi, which means you’ll also get to see Princess Leia Organa (near the Millennium Falcon), Han Solo (also near the Millennium Falcon), Luke Skywalker (roaming the outpost), and Chewbacca throughout the land.

©Disney

Don’t worry, though, because you’ll still be able to see Ahsoka Tano, the Mandalorian, and Grogu over near the Marketplace. R2-D2 will also continue to roll around near the Droid Depot and the garage, while Rey will be able to be found at the Resistance Camp.

Mando and Grogu in Disneyland

Additionally, the First Order Cargo shop has turned into Black Spire Surplus, which is a military salvage operation with artifacts from across the history of the galaxy. This will be where you can find “relics” themed after both the Empire and the Rebel Alliance from the Galactic Civil War.

First Order Cargo Shop is now Black Spire Surplus

Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities has also gotten some adjustments, beginning to display a different array of one-of-a-kind items from its past, and an earlier generation of the Mubo family will begin operating the Droid Depot from now on.

Kylo Ren has one of these

We’ll be on the lookout for the additional changes coming to Disneyland and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more!

DATE ANNOUNCED for Permanent Closure at Downtown Disney

29 April 2026 at 10:02

A long-time Downtown Disney staple is closing after 23 years to make way for a new bubble tea shop.

Jamba at Downtown Disney

The Orange County Register has reported that the Downtown Disney Jamba location will close on July 6th so that Bopo Go! can move in. The addition Bopo Go! to Downtown Disney was revealed over a year ago, but we hadn’t heard anything about the new location since the initial announcement — until now.

Click for your FREE Disneyland Snack Map

Jamba (previously known as Jamba Juice) serves smoothies, bowls, juices, and snacks, and is a quick spot to grab a bite while strolling around Downtown Disney. The location will remain open through July 5th and then close so crews can transform the space into Bopo Go!

Jamba

Bopo Go! will serve high-quality, authentic boba/bubble tea with no artificial ingredients. The concept will use real fruits and vegetables, lactose-free milk, oat milk, cane or brown sugar, tea sourced from farmers in Taiwan, and matcha sourced from Japan. There will also be light bites, imported snacks, and candies. This is a new cafe concept being planned for Downtown Disney!

©Disney

Disneyland recently filed a building permit to remodel the 1,200-square-foot Jamba location in Downtown Disney with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical upgrades for a new tenant.

Bopomofo, the company behind Bopo Go! will begin construction on the new cafe this summer, according to a post on the company’s social media accounts. While we don’t have an official opening date or timeline yet, we’re hopeful this will be a relatively quick turnaround and that the new location will open before the end of the year!

2 Popular Items Have Been BANNED on Disneyland Rides

9 April 2026 at 14:34

Even the Happiest Place on Earth has rules you have to follow!

Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure

No running in the parks, no selfie sticks, no illicit substances, and more. These rules are designed to keep everyone safe throughout the parks and to make sure everyone has a good time, too, of course! On a recent visit to the parks, we spotted some new (or newly enforced) rules at Disneyland Resort that you need to know about.

Heads up if you’ve got an upcoming trip to Disney California Adventure! There are some new ride rules you should be aware of. While this first one isn’t necessarily a new rule, over at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, a long-standing rule is being newly enforced — no loose cell phones on the ride! There is even signage in the queue advising of this as well.

Loose articles sign

When we spoke with a Cast Member, they said it wasn’t a ban necessarily, but that they advise riders to have no loose articles in their hands at all before the vehicle is dispatched — they will not send the vehicle out until all loose articles are stored. If a phone is taken out on the ride, they won’t stop the ride, but they’re taking this extra precaution because too many people lose their phones on this ride.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

If people lose their phones on this ride, the vehicles can run over them, which can cause the ride to break down — and can also potentially cause a broken phone! It’s best for everyone if you keep your phone stowed away so that there are no mishaps.

There they are!

Over at Incredicoaster, loose items have always been banned for safety reasons, but with the rise of heavy metal water bottles — like Stanley cups — this rule is being enforced now more than ever. Cast Members said that if your Stanley cup or water bottle can fit into your bag, you’re able to bring it onto the ride with you as long as it is stowed away.

The Incredicoaster

But, if your water bottle is loose, it must be placed on a small table off to the side before getting into the ride vehicle. This is to ensure the water bottle doesn’t dislodge and become a flying projectile. After the ride, you can pick it back up and go about your day!

Stanley cup

While these rules may not seem like a big deal, they’re important to know if you’ve got an upcoming trip to Disneyland planned, as they are being enforced more than they were in the past, depending on when you last visited. If you have any reservations about Disneyland rules, you can always check the Disneyland website or app before your visit to make sure you’re following them correctly. And, when in doubt, ask a Cast Member — that’s what they’re there for!

Incredicoaster

We’ll be on the lookout for even more rule changes you need to know about at Disneyland and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more!
